The Audience: Women between the ages of 35-45 who has experienced childhood trauma, low income, and a single parent.

Introduction to Topic: Memories from the Past

Explanation of Topic: Describe the Memories

Sherri’s Story: There are things that happened in my life that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. As a child, I experienced loneliness, betrayal, and deep rejection. Despite the pain, I needed to learn how to forgive and find ways to move on for my benefit. During this program, I’m going to show you how to do the same.

The Message: Letting go

Lesson 1: What keeps us stuck and unable to move forward in life?

Lesson 2: Believing that we can’t be the change we want to become.

Lesson 3: The ability to forgive is the freedom to disconnect yourself from the hurt.

Lesson 4: How to walk out your next chapter free from your past.

Call to Action: I believe that today is your day to be free from the hurt and pain you have experienced. I get it. It was hard for me to forgive my mom. It was hard to forgive my dad. It was even hard for me to forgive myself. It took some time, but on the other side of the journey I found my Destination Happy, freedom from all those toxic emotions that held me hostage from experiencing healing and wholeness in every area of my life. Discovering the journey to Destination Happy is unique to each person. It’s not an overnight quick fix, or a 50-yard dash. This is a marathon, and at the finish line there’s healing. Begin to embrace God’s highest and best for your life, and just like the Apostle Paul said in the book of Philippians chapter 3, let’s continue to press toward the mark. If you’re ready to walk the journey, and you give me permission to guide you, let’s start walking together and get started.

The Seven Last Words of Jesus Christ

Number 6 – “Today, You Will Be With Me In Paradise.”

Luke 23:33-43 (AMP)

When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His clothes among themselves. Now the people stood by, watching; but even the rulers ridiculed and sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others [from death]; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) of God, His Chosen One.” The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him and [cruelly] offering Him sour wine, and sarcastically saying, “If you are [really] the King of the Jews, save Yourself [from death]!” Now there was also an inscription above Him: “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” One of the criminals who had been hanged [on a cross beside Him] kept hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us [from death]!” But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? We are suffering justly, because we are getting what we deserve for what we have done; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, [please] remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” Jesus said to him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

This is a familiar passage of scripture that we hear every year about this time regarding the death, burial and more importantly, the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This evening, I’m going to paint a picture for you, based upon our personal experiences with the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Let’s look at what went down at Calvary. Jesus and two criminals were being crucified for what society thought were transgressions committed by them. Never mind the fact that all the Lord did was to share the good news of the gospel to a lost and dying world, these other two cats were thieves and murderers.

You see, Jesus was born under the lowliest of circumstances, to a virgin teenager and her espoused husband. We already know that story, which is why we celebrate Christmas. We know that he sat at the feet of the greatest biblical scholars at that period in time, and when his parents lost track of him amongst their relatives, they came back and found him in the temple, gleaning wisdom and knowledge.

Fast forward several years to when He began His ministry, at the age of 30. To say that the Lord was the most influential individual that had impact on all the world doesn’t say enough about Him. In three short years, He healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons and sent them back to where they belonged, to their horror, I might add.

Jesus was the greatest preacher and teacher ever known, because He was the one who set the standard for everyone who came behind Him, like the disciples and apostles, who told everyone within earshot and beyond the good news. His cousin, the forerunner of Christ, John the Baptist, was born with the Holy Spirit inside of him.

After his death, Jesus continued the message of hope to all. I dare say that millions are still coming to faith in the Savior of the world, and repenting of their sins. Good Friday represents the finished work on the cross.

I know that there are some in the house who want to know how in the world could this day, commemorated year after year, be a good day? I’m glad you asked! Listen closely, and I’ll let you in on a secret.

We can easily put ourselves into this story, so much so, that Jesus had to pray for us. How so? Every time that we say that we’re a Christian, and we have our open or secret sins, He intercedes for us.

Can you see the Roman soldiers gambling to get His clothes? Now let me bring it present day, so you can understand what I’m getting at. Imagine the Lord’s garments being an Armani suit, with snakeskin shoes and real gold cuff links.

The crowd is gathering at Calvary, shaking their heads in disbelief, because the haters have to get their last minute snarky comments in. The scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees, with their sneers talked amongst themselves. “He saved other people from death, but He doesn’t have the power to save Himself? Man, if He’s really the so called King of the Jews, then He needs to come down from the cross right now! Maybe if He does that, then we can believe in Him. The Son of God? Yeah, right!”

And one of the criminals, overhearing what they were saying, just had to join in. “I thought you were supposed to be the Christ! Why don’t you save yourself and us?”

The other criminal, resigned to his fate, looked over at his counterpart and gave him a piece of his mind. “Dude, really? We’re being punished because we’re guilty and deserve to die. But this guy is innocent, and He’s being treated like He did the same things that we did. It’s wrong, I tell you! Jesus, I believe in You, and can you just do me one favor? Please remember me when You enter into your kingdom.”

Can I be real with you for one moment? I have done some real shady and foul things in my life that I wouldn’t want anyone to know about my past. I know that you feel me, because you’ve done it too. It’s ok, just look straight ahead, and thank God that He didn’t reveal our mess on the silver screen.

Real talk, the fact that Jesus was dying on the cross between these two thieves, and one chose to not take responsibility for his actions, and to the end wanted to mock the Lord, we know where he lifted his eyes when he breathed his final breath. But the other one, who knew that his lifestyle and bad decisions had caught up with him, and he deserved what was happening, was able to humble himself before Jesus and defend him, and ask that He wouldn’t forget about him.

Can you see and hear the compassion and love, even to the point of death, when the Savior of the world says to this man, “…today, You will be with Me in Paradise.” Jesus was in agony, yet He was almost done fulfilling His mission on Earth. This is what He says to us, if we would only believe and receive His precious gift of salvation.

At the end of the day, we all deserve death. No one in this room, myself included, can say that we’ve been so good that we deserve the next breath we take. We are sinners, only saved by the sacrifice of today that we commemorate His grace and mercy. When we come to the conclusion that we can’t make it on our own, and that we need the Lord, then we can see in our mind’s eye that He took every single sin that we ever committed, by thought, word, deed, commission and omission, and it was nailed to the cross. He died for everyone in this room and out in the universe, and it is the most precious gift that anyone could ever give.

I want to end with this. Every blatant and secret sin that we’ve ever done, whether we were put on blast or not, He knew that we would do it before we were born. Isn’t that crazy? And guess what? He still died for us. The blood, sweat and tears that He shed for a world who continues to deny His existence, but we know that it happened, and was recorded in history that still affects us today.

So if we can look to the Lord, and tell Him that we still believe, and we will humbly worship at His feet, in His presence, He will whisper in our ears as the tears fall, “…today, You will be with Me in Paradise.” This is not something we will feel when we close our eyes for the last time, and breathe our last breath, but we can experience it right here, right now, and thank Him for the precious blood that He shed for us. May the Lord bless you.

Good Morning, and praise the Lord. We are continuing with the series on what’s In a Name. Please turn with me to Genesis chapter 2.

Genesis 2

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; and the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found a help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

We just finished a series called Daddy’s Little Girls, so this particular scripture ties into what I was sharing over the last two weeks. We all know this story, how God created the Heavens and the earth, and created man, whom He named Adam. Now the Lord gave Adam the freedom to name all of the animals, and gave him the order not to touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and warned him that the day he did and partakes of the fruit, he will die.

So God had compassion on Adam and said that he shouldn’t live alone. He caused him to fall into a deep sleep and from his rib, he made a woman. Adam named her that, because she came from man. Now watch this, because I want you to take a note of this. In chapter 3, he calls her Eve, because she was the mother of mankind.

Before the fall, when the Lord presented Eve to Adam, this was the first marriage that took place. This is also significant of the second Adam, namely, Jesus, who will be coming back to earth very soon to take His bride, the church, back with Him. The innocence of the marriage covenant, where the scripture says that the man and his wife were naked and not ashamed.

Let’s talk about Eve for a moment. Before she was bamboozled by the enemy, she had the distinction of being first. The first woman, the first wife and eventually, the first mother. That’s an awesome responsibility, and for a time, enjoyed the beauty of the Garden of Eden with her husband, the first man, the first husband and the first father.

Unfortunately, she was also the first transgressor of the mandate that God laid down for them. She ushered sin into the world because of her weakness and falling for the okey doke of Satan. She was summarily punished for her actions, and plunged us into eternal damnation until Jesus came.

Her name will forever go down in history as a series of first experiences. Like I said yesterday, in order to have a good name, you must keep God first and shun evil. While it didn’t happen for her, because of her own inadequacies and choices, it doesn’t have to go down like that for us. Ladies, we still have a chance to choose life and not death. Jesus paid it all at Calvary, so we can live again when we close our eyes for the final time on this side. Just make sure that Jesus is truly Lord of every area of our lives, and we will live His highest and best. May the Lord bless you, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
What's In A Name - Part 1tag:guardiansprayerwarrior.com,2019-03-01:1986731:Topic:13051992019-03-01T20:24:58.019ZSharilynn "Sherri" McIntoshhttps://guardiansprayerwarrior.com/profile/SharilynnSherriMcIntosh

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all. A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life. Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor. Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend. The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor. The slothful man saith, there is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the Lord shall fall therein. Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge. For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips. That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee? Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: For the Lord will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee? Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

The good name of an individual is due to the reputation of a man or woman. There are some things that the Lord outlines in this particular passage of scripture that shows us how to achieve this goal. First of all, we want our lives to be submitted to God wholeheartedly, without any distractions, so that we can obtain His favor.

Next, we need to shun the very appearance of evil in all areas of our life, so that people will know who we are, and even our enemies won’t be able to try to discredit us. We must be men and women of humility. The problem with society is that they want everyone to have their name up in lights. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but are we lifting up the name of Jesus, or are we trying to win friends and influence people?

The cares of life always get in the way of the believer, and if we put our trust and faith in the Lord, then our spirit will always be lifted, regardless of all hell breaking loose around us. Parents, if you’re serving God, and you have raised your children to know the Lord, even when they leave your home and presence, and go out on their own, they might bump their head for a moment in the world, but it’s our job to hide the word in our and their hearts, so that we may not sin against God. They’ll be back. Just pray without ceasing and cover them.

I learned something the other day, which I find interesting. I may get some push back on it, but just hear me out. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, right? Now watch this; the difference between the believer and the unbeliever is that when we sin, the Lord calls it iniquity, because we know better, but choose to do wrong. The unbeliever sins, but doesn’t know any better, because they have not chosen to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior like we have.

We need to get back to outreach and witnessing, which is the believer’s job. We are too busy involved with our own lives to share the gospel anymore, and God isn’t pleased. The return of the Lord is almost upon us, and we’re not acting like the watchmen on the wall. Not only do we need to get our house in order, but we need to make sure that every unsaved person that we encounter, family, friends, coworkers and anyone else we know needs to hear that Jesus loves them, and wants an intimate and personal relationship with them.

Getting back to having a good name; if we share the good news of the gospel, and get passionate about what the Lord is passionate about, He will bless us. Make a conscious effort to watch who you allow into your circle. If who you’re surrounded by people who don’t respect your belief system, it’s time to cut them out of your life, and you won’t be so stressed out about their mocking of your faith in God. The trick of the enemy is to make you lazy.

Now what do I mean by that? I’m glad you asked. If you know that God has called you to a particular ministry, or if He blessed you with a job that will take you to the next level in Him, and you are afraid to show your competent skill set, or if you refuse to take action because you’re too shy, you’re lazy. Don’t you know that it’s not about you, but the Christ in you, the hope of glory?

If you know that you’re balling, or at least living somewhat comfortably, why aren’t you tithing and paying offerings to your local body of believers? Money answers all things, but the love of money is the root of all evil. That’s the word right there. It’s time out for the body of Christ being stingy and not releasing the 10% that God requires us to give. For goodness sakes, He allows us to keep the other 90% so we can take care of our business, but the first fruits of our income belongs to Him.

Riddle me this; if our Lord has the cattle on a thousand hills, and provides for the sparrow, why do we act like it’s killing us to give? We’re so eager to receive during the holidays or our birthdays, yet we don’t want to give back what the Lord blessed us to receive. We curse ourselves because we don’t want to follow His lead in that area.

Young people, you may think that your parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents are out of touch with today’s society, and we’re all old fashioned and don’t know what time it is, but you’d better recognize the wisdom that those who came before you have. If you live long enough, those apple bottom jeans won’t fit anymore, and you won’t be able to wear those platform shoes, nor will you be able to fit your skinny jeans. I promise you that you will get gray hair, wrinkles and aches and pains as you get older, if you’re not already on the way.

Wonder why there are more seniors making it to 100 and beyond, while deaths among young people keep climbing higher and higher each year? The Lord promises us 70 years and 80 if we have the strength. Let me give you a clue. What does the bible say in the 10 Commandments? It’s the only one with a promise.

It says to honor your mother and father, so your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God gives you. Kids are being cut off with the quickness because they are irreverent and disobedient, and I’m not just talking about outside of the church, but inside as well. This is the age of social media and technology, and instead of parents getting a bible app for their children to look at, or volunteering to be a Sunday school teacher, they’re letting them play games on their phones while the word of God is going forth. And you wonder why they aren’t able to recite John 3:16 from memory like we could at their age.

It’s time for us to open our hearts, minds, souls and spirits to the knowledge that the Lord gives us in His word. We have to allow it to come alive in us, so that it stays in the forefront of our minds, so when the hard times come, we can pull back on our memories and grab our bibles to read and apply it to our hearts. Trust in the Lord. He’s given us the manual to follow in order to gain eternal life.

Stay away from a group of people who have nothing positive to say, and are always looking for a fight. You will get caught up in their drama and may be the one to pay for it, like being guilty by association. Let your steps be ordered by the Lord, so that you won’t stray and be distracted by the enemy’s schemes. That’s how you get and maintain a good name and reputation. May the Lord bless you, and have a great weekend.
What's In A Name - Part 1tag:guardiansprayerwarrior.com,2019-03-01:1986731:Topic:13052662019-03-01T20:24:55.289ZSharilynn "Sherri" McIntoshhttps://guardiansprayerwarrior.com/profile/SharilynnSherriMcIntosh

Judges 14:1-4, 7-8, 10, 15-17, 20; 15:1-2, 6, 19; 16:1, 4-20

And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. Then his father and his mother said unto him, is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well. And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcass of the lion. So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson's wife, entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father's house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? Is it not so? And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee? And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people. But Samson's wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend. But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in. And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? Take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

Then the Philistines said, who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire. Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her. And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver. And Delilah said to Samson, tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. And Samson said unto her, if they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them. Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, the Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known. And Delilah said unto Samson, behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, the Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread. And Delilah said unto Samson, hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, if thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web. And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, the Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web. And she said unto him, how canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? Thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; that he told her all his heart, and said unto her, there hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand. And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. And she said, the Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

Everyone is familiar with this passage of scripture. This is the story of Samson, the mightiest man of Israel at that period of time. This dude was like Andre the Giant, huge, and with a lot of power. The Lord had blessed him from birth to be what was called a Nazarite. This meant that his hair was never to be cut, nor would he ever drink wine.

His purpose and destiny was set, however he had one weakness. He was a girl watcher, and had to have what he wanted. He saw a pretty girl who just happened to be part of the sworn enemies of the Israelites, the Philistines.

Samson didn’t care about any of that, as he begged his parents to get her for him to marry. They were not happy at all, and asked him why he wouldn’t get a relative instead. He wasn’t trying to hear that, though, and insisted on having her.

Now what was interesting is that while the parents were stressed, they didn’t discern that this was from the Lord, because He had in mind to destroy the Philistines who were ruling over Israel. Remember the rumble in the jungle with David and Goliath? This is the same group that the children of Israel had beef with down the road.

Take note that this is one of the reasons why God speaks against being yoked up with unbelievers. In other words, why would you, being a Christian, want to hook up with someone who has no interest in the things of God? So watch this, Samson’s father went to speak to the woman and her people, and there was a great wedding feast for Samson and his new wife. However, the crafty Philistines threatened to burn down the house of her family if she didn’t find out the answer to the riddle that her husband posed to them.

She tries to move Samson with her tears in order to get the answer. He told her that he didn’t even tell his parents the answer, so what made her think that he would tell her. She cried all the more, and pestered him for seven days until he finally told her. She couldn’t wait to get back to the Philistines to tell them, and then her father gave her to a friend of his to marry, telling Samson that he thought that he hated her, and to take her sister instead.

Needless to say, he went off. The Philistines came by some time later and asked what happened, and were told that Samson was angry because his wife’s father gave her to his friend to marry. What did these fools do? They burned her and her father to death. Does that make sense?

So Samson went down to Gaza, and encountered a prostitute named Delilah. We know how the story goes, and how Delilah used her womanly wiles to break him down to tell her the secret of her strength, and ultimately he tells her, and gets blinded and taken captive by the Philistines. In one final act, he asks the Lord to give him the strength to take them down in the location where he was.

Most people focus on Samson, because of the power that the Lord gave him, but I want to talk about Delilah, because we as women need to know that she is not a role model, and doesn’t represent us.

As Bell, Biv, Devoe said, “…that girl is poison.” She used her mind, body and spirit to break down a man of God. This is not the purpose and plan in which the Lord made us, ladies. It is evil to use our looks and figures to bring a brother down, so that we can use him for our agenda.

Many a man has been hurt, and some even killed, because women want to have their way. We know full well that God created man in His image and in His likeness. He created us to be a help meet, and I will stress not a help mate for the man. How many women have trapped a guy through sex and purposely got pregnant in order to keep him in her life? Don’t you know that is the oldest trick in the book, and it will not work.

My sisters, hear me clearly, because this is important. The Lord did not make us to be tricks, hoes, divas, thirsty, scandalous and trifling women. Some of us don’t know the power that we have, but those that do, please guard against using it for evil.

Why do we try our hardest to snag a brother into our web of deception and deceit? Is that really what we want to do, because we’re so desperate to fulfill the lust of the flesh and keep up with the Joneses that we have to stoop down so low? A true woman of God will be content with what she has, and wait on the Lord to provide for her.

Do we want to be Proverbs 31 women, or do we want to be a Real Housewife of wherever? A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised, not one who is beautiful on the outside, but is full of evil intentions on the inside.

My God, we need to get it together! The word of God says that he, not she who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord. If you want a husband, bury yourself in the word of God, fast, pray and seek Him for guidance. Crucify that flesh, sisters! I speak from experience.

Your relationship with the Lord surpasses any other relationship on this earth. It is the most important, period. If you’re single, take comfort in knowing that in Christ alone your hope is found. If you’re married, He is always first, but don’t forget about your spouse. Take him to the Lord in prayer constantly, so that your marriage is centered in Christ, who is the three strand cord that holds it all together.

Sisters, God’s highest and best for us is to be chaste, law abiding, God fearing women after His own heart. Don’t take any pages from the world, trying to make things happen. You will be hurt, disappointed and disillusioned. Wait on the Lord, and be of good courage. He will strengthen your heart. May the Lord bless you.
Daddy's Little Girl - Part 9tag:guardiansprayerwarrior.com,2019-02-26:1986731:Topic:13044242019-02-26T21:24:37.987ZSharilynn "Sherri" McIntoshhttps://guardiansprayerwarrior.com/profile/SharilynnSherriMcIntosh

Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah. And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons. Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father. And Moses brought their cause before the Lord. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, the daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them. And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, if a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter. And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren. And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren. And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses. And the Lord said unto Moses, get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin. And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying, let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd. And the Lord said unto Moses, take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. And thou shalt put some of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient. And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. And Moses did as the Lord commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.

This is the story of five young women who were descendants of Joseph, of the twelve tribes of Israel. Back in those days, women were not allowed to own anything. In fact, they were treated as property.

After the death of their father, they had to come before Moses and ask for a portion of land that he left behind. You see, when the death of a parent occurred, particularly the father, all their worldly possessions were handed down to their son or sons. Unfortunately, he only had daughters, and had they not spoken up, they would be penniless and without a home.

So they came to the man of God to state their case. The ladies told Moses that their father died in the wilderness. It’s important to note here that they let him know that he wasn’t part of the uprising that took place with Korah, Dathan and their followers. Basically, he died alone and it appears that it was of natural causes.

These sisters asked a valid question. Why should their father’s name die with him? Why couldn’t they take a hold of his land and work it for themselves? There weren’t any other men in their lives, so they had to take care of it, and trust in the Lord.

Moses did the right thing by consulting God for direction and how to answer them. The Lord gave him specific directions which would not only affect these ladies, but future women in the course of history. He gave the edict that if a man dies and has no sons, then the daughters would be welcome to the inheritance left behind, and if no daughters, then it would be passed to his brothers.

In that day and time, it was a big deal, and completely fair. Unlike today, where modern day women are large and in charge in terms of the business world, becoming entrepreneurs at an alarming rate, all women were used for was to procreate, take care of the home and children. Now, let me give a disclaimer here, because society has it twisted.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a woman who gets married, has children, and is the keeper of the home. That is the divine order of things. It actually saves money, and keeps you humble to know that God would charge us with taking care of our husbands, children and the house. Now, I know that I’m going to get some push back on that one, but hear me out.

Sisters, I can hear the collective screaming from you saying, “…girl, I ain’t fixing to take care of no man!” I agree with you to a point, but watch this. If the brother is leaving the house every day, going to a 9 to 5, at least cover him in prayer, prepare his clothes, make his breakfast and lunch, throw a little love note in his briefcase, and send him on his way.

If you have little ones at home, bathe and clean them up, if age appropriate, teach them something, play with them, and have a schedule. When you put them down for a nap, start preparing your dinner, and make sure that you and they look adorable when your husband gets home.

It’s time out for the do rags and rollers, meeting him at the door when he comes home from a long hard day at work. You have no idea what he encounters on the other side of that door, so you need to be praying without ceasing for your husband and children. Keep your house clean so he will be refreshed and renewed when he sees his loving wife and children who can’t wait to jump in his arms.

This will keep his mind from wandering to other attractive sisters, when he realizes that Ruth is at home waiting for him. I promise you that he will honor you. I’m trying to help you guys out, because younger women have a hard time hearing this, because they have their heads in the clouds, thinking that they’re going to marry a buff guy who looks like The Rock, with a BMW and an obese house, and they dream of having beautiful kids and a 6 figure bank account.

Now all that is cute and all, but whose going to take care of the mansion? He may not want to hire a nanny and housekeepers to cook, clean and take care of your kids. This is real life, baby, and the Lord will give you a reality check, because it says specifically in His word what the role of a wife is, to learn from seasoned and wisdom filled women who have been there, and to stay at home and mind your own business.

I know that the Real Housewives of wherever is entertaining for those who watch it, but it’s filled with drama and chaos that you really don’t need. Trust in the Lord, and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. It’s really simple.

Instead of trying to compete with the boys, how about you develop your own skill set, so that you can have an at home business? When your babies go off to school, then you can spread your horizons and see what’s out there in terms of making it work with your business. I promise you that God will bless your endeavors, if you include Him on the front end, and your family will honor you for your sacrifice of not trying to keep up with the Joneses, and not being there for your husband and children when they need you.

I speak from experience that no amount of money is worth not being there for a recital, soccer game or formal event your husband’s job is having, because you’re too busy trying to keep up with an impossibly lavish lifestyle that you won’t be able to take with you in the end. Think about it, and thank the Lord for His wisdom. May the Lord bless you, and we’ll see you tomorrow, God willing.
