Rev. Dr. Gertrude Ferguson holds a Doctorate in Theological Studies with an emphasis in Pastoral Leadership from Denver Seminary, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Rowan University, and a Bachelor's in English (Cum Laude) from Kean University. She is an ordained pastor who has been in pastoral leadership for over twenty years and focuses on preaching, teaching, and other ministerial assignments.
She founded Enough Tribulations Peace & Deliverance Ministries, which was borne out of the most difficult period of her Christian journey. During that period, she endured various tribulations and spiritual setbacks, but God spoke to her through the Scripture, John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Dr. Ferguson was born in Jamaica, where she served her country as a police officer. She is also an author, an educational leader, and a mom to a daughter, Hervianna. She ministered alongside her late husband, Bishop Hervin Ferguson, in the local churches in Jamaica and New Jersey. She is a citizen of the United States of America and resides in New Jersey.
Faith is a choice and so is love. Neither will last if they are based on emotions. Volition is the basis for all righteousness. Our tendency and propensity is to be moved greatly by the emotional tides that flow in our lives. If our hope is the Rock of Ages, then we are not moved though the seas roar and the mountains are tossed into the seas. Our river of hope and security is in the name of the Lord. God has not given us the spirit of fear so that current did not come from God. Perfect love casteth out fear. Hope does not bring us to shame. God's love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost that is poured out in our lives. A kingdom is the domain of a king. God's kingdom is not built on the foundation of emotions or transitory feelings. It is indeed righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. We have been begotten unto a lively hope by the resurrection. We have been appointed to an inheritance that is incorruptible that fadeth not away, reserved in the heavens for us. Our anchor of hope is sure and steadfast within the veil. It is sure and steadfast, and we have full assurance that it will not slip away.
For the leaves to change...it takes the "Son" and the rain.
Col 1:29 To this end I labor, struggling with all "His" energy, which so powerfully works in me.
It's been said...."I have done it again, I've messed up, ruined, failed, or destroyed what I worked so hard to do/accomplish/build/change. " Even Paul struggled with this on sin. Rom 7:15-25 Whisper...The answer is within the sentence... that "I" worked so hard to build. What we do or build weather it be relationships, behaviors, spiritually...with our own hands seems to end up many times going in the wrong directions, ending up in huge knots.
Our motives, abilities and strengths are not enough. How can it work when the motives in our heart sets out Spiritually , yet we step out to work it naturally? "I" got it...."I" can do this on my own. Sooner or later the "I" is going to run out of energy. Natural power is unable to run without a source. Same is true Spiritually. God is our power source! Without light there is no life, only darkness. Jn 8:12 We cannot continue to press on, without Christ and being fed. We must remain plugged in. This isn't once a week but daily, recharged through Christ and His word. Changes will occur. ***The I cannots will transform into He can.*** We need to learn to rest in Christs strengths, power, and grace. 2Cor9a But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." 1Co 2:4,5 15:10 Zec 4:6 Hos 1:7
Whisper...I haven't seen any knot yet that the Lord hasn't been able to undo.
In Christ, Brown Eagle
