Hugs were meant for all seasons. In our group...In the Wings of Love here at Guardians Prayer Warriors...
wouldn't it be awesome if we took one from the body of Christ in this group each week and showered them in praise and prayer. Please come by and join the group. I will post a new Guardian Prayer Warrior each week that we can all lift praises, thanksgivings, and prayers for. Please stop by the group and leave a hug, prayer, comment, or whisper for this weeks child of His....Mr. Brown...also known as Guardian. Whisper...you can find the group by clicking on groups on the taskbar at the top of the page...Thank you and In Christ, Brown Eagle
Is your spiritual height limited? Not seeing much growth lately? Are things weighing you down?
Proverbs 12:18...Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Vices Gal. 5:19-21 Virtues Gal. 5:22, 23
When another makes a negative comment, judgement, statement, opionion... so many times we either believe it or take it to heart. Unkind words spoken hurt, weigh us down, wound the soul, and leave us in pain with years of echos. Psm. 64:3
If we were able to look at it through Spiritual eyes....weigh it on the scale of Christs love and Gal. 5:22 the fruit of the Spirit...(including even discipline and correction)...it should carry much weight. If it was said to us in anger, jelousy, pride...it should carry little weight... but for many of us its weight is opposite.
In prayer and with the Lords guidance and direction...we need to pull the feathers (hurtful words) that weigh us down and discard them. We need to replace them with the Lords words of truth and His words that bring life.
Lord, my prayer lifted is that You mend our wings and carry each of us to new Spiritual heights in You. Ex. 19:4 Psm. 18:33 Isa. 61:1-3 Matt. 11:28,29
Soar my friend Soar. In Christ and to His glory, Brown Eagle
1 Th 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Romans 12:8a, Acts 15:32, Heb. 10:25, Heb.3:13.
Native American Circle of Friends
The Native Legend says that at the end of the evening, friends would gather around a bonfire and share their hearts and speak of the good qualitites of each other. They reflected upon times shared, as the embers faded, their friendship was said to be sealed anew, bringing them closer together.
A tool for the Christian toolbelt for encouragement and edifying others.
When I am asked to speak at groups: be it either churches, schools, scouts, bible studies, retirement communities...I always enjoy closing with the friendship circle.
This usurally works best when groups are divided into 10-20 people in each. I have everyone form a circle, join hands, and explain to them the friendship circle. Sometimes I will light a candle in the middle of our circle to represent Christs presense and He is the center of our friendships, the head of the body of Christ.
I then have each one take their turn and look at the person to their left and say to them: ...you are special and a good friend to me because...I am blessed to have you as my friend because...you mean a lot to me because..." and give their reason[s].
Once we are finished going around the circle...I then ask for someone to please close in prayer and to lift all of these blessings and
praises... because they all belong to Christ and to His glory. When finsished the candle then is blown out. The responses during and after this have been amazing and awesome! The next time you are in a group or even at home around the table for supper...you might just suggest or offer this as a closing. Being able to witness
the responses from others receiving kind words has been for me just as much of a blessing as hearing the kind words from ones heart. In Christ, Brown Eagle
The Native American Indians in our simplicity, are taught to literally give away all that we have--to relatives, to guests of other tribes or clans, but above all to the poor and the aged, from whom we can hope for no return.
Matthew 6:3... But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret.
When out gardening with my husband...the meanings of Matt. 6:3 kept running through my mind. I understood what the Lord was trying to teach..but the Lord took it a little further with me that day...a deeper insight...(whisper...as Pamela would call it a light bulb moment)...Maybe also our giving should be so automatic...that there is no time, thought, questioning...even b4 our other hand realizes what is being let go of....just do it. Release...give...let go.
Matt. 25:31-37...Then the righteous will answer Him, Lord, "WHEN DID WE SEE" You hungry and feed you, or give You drink when you were thirsty, invite You in as a stranger, clothed You, visit You when You were sick or in prison? Verse 40..The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Acts 20:35, 2 Cor. 9:7, Proverbs 21:26
Whisper...could "be in secret" also include ones self?
Are you one who doesn't see within.... spiritual growth?
Php 1:6 being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Going through a new season of growing pains... sometimes it is hard for us to see the growth and change. One can only sense the soils restrictions... limits set by earthly weight and even by ones own self. Breaking through the soil...may be painful at times. The outcome from a new emergence we long to see.
We need to rest in the soil under the Son, because it is God who is watching and waiting for us to bloosom. It is the Lords purposes and plans that are preparing us. We need to "rest" on Php 1:6 that He (not I) who began a good work...(He not I) will carry it on....to completion.
Whisper...friend, soar boldly, being confidant...that in the soil of our confinements and weakness's....The Lord will carry it on...to completion! Ex. 19:4 2 Cor 3:18 In Christ, Brown Eagle
No matter how shy you feel, I tell my kids, you can always say thank you. But sometimes it's hard to speak our thanks.
"You shouldn't have," we say instead. "You did too much."
Or, "Please. I don't deserve something so extravagant."
Or we nod our heads brusquely and turn away, embarrassed to acknowledge what we've received.
What is it that gets in our way of accepting a gift? Is it our sense of unworthiness? Or at the opposite end of the spectrum, is it our pride? Either way, we're usually looking only at ourselves. Pride and embarrassment aren't so very different from each other; they're both self-conscious.
Thankfulness turns us outward; however, it takes the focus off ourselves. It allows us to reach out and accept what is given to us, simply, honestly, humbly.
And in the end, the truest friendships are built on that simple, honest humility.
