My Secret Garden
Chapter One
In my Secret Gordon are many secrets of myself I have not let go of. Now I am leaning how to let go of some of them, and maybe with God's help I will be free of them all. You see God has given to me a book to read that I might understand my purpose and why I am on this Earth. I have looked to understand what my purpose was in life. Yet as always I was looking in all the wrong places for the answers. When all I had to do was to open the book that my Father gave me at birth and that was the Bible to read. Not only to read, but ask Him to gave me understanding of what I am reading and how to apply His words in my walk on earth with Him. Also, that I might understand His purpose for me being hear. You see without my Father in my life, my life will be purposeless. Without a purpose my life his been motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason.
Without a purpose in my life, life became trivial, petty, and pointless. Until now I have lived a very pointless life. Things like lying, stealing, using people using myself, not being a good Father to my girls, are good friend to people that cared for me, doing drugs, and many more bad things. You see it was all about Neal and what I wanted, that is why my life became pointless and without purpose. I did not have God in my life. I though I was God almighty myself. But on December 26, 2007 God really showed me that he is the true God and power. He really forgave me of all my sins, and put me back to work. After I had made a mess of my life again, He would not let go of me. And I am very glad of the fact that He loves me so very much, that He keeps on forgiving me for my sins.
In His loving kindness He put me back to work again, after I had made a mess of things as always tiring my self will knowing that I am powerless. He will not let of me and I am thankful for that. What God has done for me, I could never do for myself. I see now that the greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose. Knowing my purpose will give meaning to my life. You see God created me to have meaning. And knowing my purpose will only simplify my life more. It will define what I do and don't do. My purpose will become the standard I will use to evaluate which activities are essential and which aren’t. I simply ask is this activity in accord with God's word and not mines.
It will help me concentrate my efforts and energy on what is important .I am learning to become more effective, by being more selective I no longer desire to play trivial pursuit with my life. I also am learning that I know longer have to live a life of quiet desperation. Without a Godly purpose, I will keep changing directions, jobs, relationships, Churches, or other externals-hoping each change will settle the confusion or fill emptiness in my heart.
While living in Alaska, in late summer, the salmon spawning season would begin. Wisdom shared from God, using natures display of pressing on.
Loss, loneliness, pain, lost truth, helpless: todays path is not an easy road to continue traveling. There are so many roadblocks of division. Change gains confusion in direction. Is quitting an option?
It was amazing watching the salmon finishing their race, as they headed towards the spawning pool where their life had once begun. An inner instinct drove them to return home no matter their distance of the vast sea they were leaving behind. It was hard for me at times to watch. As they were returning upstream, many were battered and some bleeding as they continued pressing on to reach their goal. Many were swimming very slow, some were even dying during their journey home in silence. They were so committed, no matter what their circumstance, no matter what the cost. Once their final goal of laying eggs was met, all would die.
Php. 3:12-13 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind, and straining toward what is ahead, 2Co4:18 2Co12:9,10 Col3:1,2
Lord, the road of life these days is not an easy walk. Lord, may it be Your strength that carries us through. May it be Your rainbow of hope Lord that lights our path. May Your power rest upon us during our weakness. Lord, as the drums of time beat, may we hear it from our hearts and keep in step with Your message: the message of PRESS ON. E-me-nv, Amen. I arise today Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth and His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion and His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection and His ascension,
Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In preachings of the apostles,
In faiths of confessors,
In innocence of virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven;
Light of the sun,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of the wind,
Depth of the sea,
Stability of the earth,
Firmness of the rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me;
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's hosts to save me
From snares of the devil,
From temptations of vices,
From every one who desires me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone or in a multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and evil,
Against every cruel merciless power that opposes my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of women and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that reward may come to me in abundance.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through a belief in the Threeness,
Through a confession of the Oneness
Of the Creator of creation.
Mt25:1-13 v10 But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. v13 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Last year I received one of those dreaded phone calls from my parents that my Aunt Joan had passed away. After they had explained to me what had happened, there was a minute or so of silence. I then belted out: PRAISE GOD, I GET IT! Not a reaction most would expect. You see, my Aunt Joan had died right there in the church hallway delivering a cake for that once a month evening potluck dinner for the homeless. She passed away naturally from a brain aneurysm. Spiritually Aunt Joan passed away while serving Christ and others.
We do not know the day or the hour. We must be ready when the Lord comes for us. You see Aunt Joan had other plans that evening and would not be able to make the dinner. She could have just said, I'll skip baking and go get my hair done. Mt25:31-46 is a great reminder in the differences of serving others (sheep) or serving self (goats)?
I would rather be delivering a cake than sitting in a barbers chair when the bridegroom arrives. I would much rather hear the Lord whisper the words "well done, my good servant" then hear the echos of the goats crying. YSIC Brown Eagle
