About Me:
Maria Jacobs a native of Franklinton, Louisiana. She is the daughter of Pastor Jimmie Robinson Sr. the place, many church musicals, concerts, and also volunteer work for the community. She writes and arranges her own music. Maria enjoys a mixture of sounds, which creates a contemporary and traditional gospel.Music has always been a very intricate part of her life. As a young child Maria knew that she would be used mightily of God in the area of Praise and Worship. Maria recorded her first project , “So Glad I’m Not What I Used To Be” which was released in 1991. She also released a maxi single in February 1992, entitled “Jammin for Jesus” which was played often on the morning show on WYLD in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a morning wake-up call. Maria began to travel to different states with her singers and band, singing in concerts, fairs, churches, social events and wherever she saw the opportunity. She performed in concert with several Gospel artists, such as: the Jackson Southernaires , Yolanda Adams; opened ceremonies for Williams Brothers and Helen Baylor, while performing in New Orleans. Maria performed at the Texas Gospel Announcers Guild in Austin Texas with Dr. Bobby Jones of BET, the Washington Correctional Institute. In December of 2007, Maria performed in New Mexico at a special Christmas event entitled, “The Night Under the Stars”. A memorable performance was done at the Washington Parish Free Fair, “Down by the Branch Stage in 2007. Since then, she has been performing every year at the Washington Parish Free Fair.
An electrifying performance was done by Maria Jacobs and Company as they performed on the stage at the Washington Parish Free Fair. During that performance, the crowd gathered and the response of the people soared with joy as they sang. Maria Jacobs and Company sang seven original songs from her New CD release, songs such as the title release: “All of Me”, Wait on Jesus, Testify and a few down home songs such as Amazing Grace and many more. Maria Jacobs and Company is expected to perform again December 27, 2009 @ 6:00 pm at the Bogalusa High School Auditorium in a play entitled: How Low Do You Have To Go? “ Her fans are looking forward to that performance.
