Don’t Give Up too Soon!

We all have goals that we want to accomplish and situations we’re believing will turn around. But so often when it’s taking a long time, the negative thoughts come that say, “It’s never going to change.” “You’re never going to get well.” “You’re never going to get out of debt.” “That child is never going to straighten up.” If we’re not careful, we’ll get discouraged and end up just settling where we are.

Many times, we miss out on God’s best because we gave up too soon. Just another few days of believing, another few weeks of doing the right thing, or another few months of staying in faith, and we would see that promise come to pass.

Hebrews 10:35 tells us that if we will stay in faith, if we will keep believing, keep hoping, keep doing the right thing, God promises there will be a reward. One translation says, “Don’t get discouraged. Payday is coming.” When you’re tempted to get down and things are not going your way, you need to keep telling yourself, “This may be hard. It may be taking a long time, but I know God is a faithful God, and I’m going to keep believing, knowing that my payday is on its way!”

Father, thank You for Your grace to stand strong no matter what I am facing. I choose to stay in faith. I choose to keep praying. I choose to keep believing, knowing that victory is on the way for me in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Lord, make my life A window for Your light To shine through and a mirror to reflect Your love To all I meet.

The most wonderful prayer ever written and know the world over is the prayer that Jesus taught the disciples when they asked Him to teach them to pray. It is of course, the Our Father. It is such a simple prayer and that is why it is so powerful.

Most keys to any problems are simple. The same with prayer. When words do not come to you, as happens to me a lot, I go back and think about the words in the Our Father and picture those words in my mind. If you take each phrase of the Our Father, it can take as much as an hour to just picture the entire prayer... And while doing that, you are praying.

It is amazing what else comes to mind as you meditate on the words of the Our Father. Isn't it wonderful that God does not put a condition on our prayer life? God does not demand certain prayers at certain times in certain places. Any spot you are in, is a possible place to pray. Any words you speak to God, is a prayer. Any question you have for God, is a prayer. Any request you may also have, is a prayer. Prayer is not really very difficult.
Prayer is talking to your best friend.

Don't wear yourself out trying to get rich; be wise enough to control yourself. Wealth can vanish in the wink of an eye. It can seem to grow wings and fly away like an eagle. Proverbs 23:4-5

A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. Ecclesiastes 6:2

Just As the sun provides our physical light
