Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer

VERSE:

Psalm 78 (King James Version)

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them. Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full. He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works. Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble. When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again. How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan. And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink. He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies: But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand. He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage. Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. Then the LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach. Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever. He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

COMMENTARY:

These are called dark and deep sayings, because they are carefully to be looked into. The law of God was given with a particular charge to teach it diligently to their children, that the church may abide forever. Also, that the providence's of God, both in mercy and in judgment, might encourage them to conform to the will of God. The works of God much strengthen our resolution to keep his commandments. Hypocrisy is the high road to apostacy; those that do not set their hearts right, will not be stedfast with God. Many parents, by negligence and wickedness, become murderers of their children. But young persons, though they are bound to submit in all things lawful, must not obey sinful orders, or copy sinful examples. Sin dispirits men, and takes away the heart. Forgetfulness of God's works is the cause of disobedience to his laws. This narrative relates a struggle between God's goodness and man's badness. The Lord hears all our murmurings and distrusts, and is much displeased. Those that will not believe the power of God's mercy, shall feel the fire of his indignation. Those cannot be said to trust in God's salvation as their happiness at last, who can not trust his providence in the way to it. To all that by faith and prayer, ask, seek, and knock, these doors of heaven shall at any time be opened; and our distrust of God is a great aggravation of our sins. He expressed his resentment of their provocation; not in denying what they sinfully lusted after, but in granting it to them. Lust is contented with nothing. Those that indulge their lust, will never be estranged from it. Those hearts are hard indeed, that will neither be melted by the mercies of the Lord, nor broken by his judgments. Those that sin still, must expect to be in trouble still. And the reason why we live with so little comfort, and to so little purpose, is, because we do not live by faith. Under these rebukes they professed repentance, but they were not sincere, for they were not constant. In Israel's history we have a picture of our own hearts and lives. God's patience, and warnings, and mercies, imbolden them to harden their hearts against his word. And the history of kingdoms is much the same. Judgments and mercies have been little attended to, until the measure of their sins has been full. And higher advantages have not kept churches from declining from the commandments of God. Even true believers recollect, that for many a year they abused the kindness of Providence. When they come to heaven, how will they admire the Lord's patience and mercy in bringing them to his kingdom! Let not those that receive mercy from God, be thereby made bold to sin, for the mercies they receive will hasten its punishment; yet let not those who are under Divine rebukes for sin, be discouraged from repentance. The Holy One of Israel will do what is most for his own glory, and what is most for their good. Their forgetting former favours, led them to limit God for the future. God made his own people to go forth like sheep; and guided them in the wilderness, as a shepherd his flock, with all care and tenderness. Thus the true Joshua, even Jesus, brings his church out of the wilderness; but no earthly Canaan, no worldly advantages, should make us forget that the church is in the wilderness while in this world, and that there remain a far more glorious rest for the people of God.

PRAYER:

O' Most Precious and Loving Father God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. we come before You in Prayer and praise, once again. Thank You Heavenly Father that You kept us to see another day. Thank You Lord that You allowed no harm or danger to come near any of our doors. Thank You Beloved Lord and Savior that if by chance any of us has sinned that we know that the Blood that You shad has paid the price in full for our sins, and the sins of the world. Thank You that we are not ashamed of the Gospel, and that we Pray as the Blessed Holy Spirit leads us. Thank You Lord that we have complete trust in You, and the finished work there on the cross, and we know what we have been taught by You. Thank You Father our Lord Christ Jesus, that You have told us that; All people have sinned and fall short of Your standard. Beloved Lord Christ Jesus, there are some who come to You this day, who may for the first time are excepting You as their Lord and Savior, and we Pray that they know that, none of us are perfect creatures, but we should strive to be the way You have shown us to be. If we truly love You, we will want to please You, and we have been taught by You that; If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong, and if we claim we have not sinned, we are calling You a liar and showing that Your Word has no place in our hearts. Father we take our responsibility to teach Your Holy Word seriously, and desire for all to repent of their sins, and come into the full understanding of Your Grace and Mercy and Love for them, and we proclaim with great confidence all that You have taught us, For You have told us that; God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Thank You Precious Christ Jesus our Savior that any one who hears Your voice will know that if they confess their sins, that You will be faithful to forgive them and cleanse them from all unrighteousness, and that they know that nothing can separate them from Your love, and therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, the old things passed away, behold, all things are new. Thank You Beloved Christ Jesus, Thank You Lord for Your Grace and Mercy. Thank You Lord that You have open eyes, and the blind now see, open ears and they have heard Your voice. Thank You Lord that there is no misunderstanding of Your love for us all. Thank You Lord, Thank You Christ Jesus. we shall praise You Lord at all times; we will also praise You with a harp, even Your truth, O my God; to You we will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. our lips will shout for joy when we sing praises to You; and our souls, which You have redeemed, SHOUT joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing, Know that the LORD Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture, Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His loving kindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations, Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within us, Bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle, Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word! Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will, Bless the LORD, all you works of His, in all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, O my soul! Thank Father Lord God our Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You for Your Grace and Mercy, and Your love. Thank You. O' Bless That Wonderful Name of Christ Jesus, The Only Name By Which Any Man Can Be Saved! Most Holy Father God our Lord Christ Jesus, we ask You today to please Bless the men and women who are fighting in wars, Lord You know our concern for them. Praying that You will Bless all of the world's children, the sick, the man and woman that are seeking employment, every household in the world. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Holy Father God, You know our every need Lord, and we know that as we Pray that You are already doing Your will for us in our lives. Thank You Lord, Thank You. And with complete trust in You Holy Word, we can profess that all we ask we shall receive because You have told us; Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the LORD, Those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You, O my God, in You I trust, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies exult over me, I hate those who regard vain idols, but I trust in the LORD, As for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, 'You are my God, Our heart rejoices in Him, because we trust in His holy name, Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness, Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it, He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD. How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, and has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. Thank You most Precious Holy Father God our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You Holy Spirit, Thank You. we Your children desire to be obedient to Your Holy Word, and we know we are to fear no man for You have promised, and taught us that; If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you, No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,' declares the LORD, Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Most Precious Lord God, we love You and Pray that the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable unto You, Our God Christ Jesus and the most Blessed Holy Spirit, who is Lord of our lives.

Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives. i stand in the gap for all of those in this place, and give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives. Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You.

Amen.
