Our Prayer For Wednesday December 16, 2009
VERSE:
Psalm 84 (King James Version)
How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
COMMENTARY:
Here the psalmist expresses his affection to the ordinances of God. The ordinances of God are the believer's solace in this evil world; in them he enjoys the presence of the living God: this causes him to regret his absence from them. They are to his soul as the nest to the bird. Yet they are only an earnest of the happiness of Heaven; but how can men desire to enter that Holy habitation, who complain of Divine ordinances as wearisome? Those are truly happy, who go forth, and go on in the exercise of religion, in the strength of the Grace of Jesus Christ, from whom all our sufficiency is. The pilgrims to the Heavenly city may have to pass through many a valley of weeping, and many a thirsty desert; but wells of salvation shall be opened for them, and consolations sent for their support. Those that press forward in their Christian course, shall find God add grace to their graces. And those who grow in grace, shall be perfect in Glory. In all our addresses to God, we must desire that He would look on Christ, His Anointed One, and accept us for His sake: we must look to Him with faith, and then God will with favor look upon the face of the Anointed: we, without Him, dare not show our faces. The psalmist pleads love to God's ordinances. Let us account one day in God's courts better than a thousand spent elsewhere; and deem the meanest place in his service preferable to the highest earthly preferment. We are here in darkness, but if God be our God, He will be to us a Sun, to enlighten and enliven us, to guide and direct us. We are here in danger, but He will be to us a Shield, to secure us from the fiery darts that fly thick about us. Through he has not promised to give riches and dignities, He has promised to give Grace and glory to all that seek them in His appointed way. And what is Grace, but heaven begun below, in the knowledge, love, and service of God? What is glory, but the completion of this happiness, in being made like to Him, and in fully enjoying Him for ever? Let it be our care to walk uprightly, and then let us trust God to give us every thing that is good for us. If we cannot go to the house of the Lord, we may go by faith to the Lord of the house; in Him we shall be happy, and may be easy. That man is really happy, whatever his outward circumstances may be, who trusts in the Lord of hosts, the God of Jacob.
PRAYER:
Most Holy and Mighty God our Father. Once again You have seen fit that we be here in the land of the living. we give You Thanks this morning, for allowing us to once again to come before You in Prayer and praise. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus our God, that You kept us, and seen that no harm or danger came near our doors. Thank You Lord, that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that we know that we are Your children, and that we love You and know for sure that You love us. Thank You Blessed Father, Thank You. Father, we know that some of us have broken Your laws and our sins have separated us from You. we are truly sorry, and now we want to turn away from our past sinful life toward You. Please forgive any of us who have sinned, and help us avoid sinning again. we believe that You, our Lord and Savior Christ died for our sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears our Prayers. we invite You Lord Christ Jesus to become the Lord of our lives, to rule and reign in our hearts from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help all of us Your children obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of our lives. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus Father God, Thank You. O' BLESS THAT WONDERFUL NAME OF CHRIST JESUS, THE ONLY NAME BY WHICH ANY MAN CAN BE SAVED!. we shall praise the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in our mouths. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God, It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High, Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise!, Give thanks to him; bless his name!, I will sing of steadfast love and justice to you, O Lord, I will make music, Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him tell of all his wondrous works!, Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly! Let Israel be glad in his Maker, let the children of Zion rejoice in their King! Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre! For the Lord takes pleasure in his people, he adorns the humble with salvation, Let the godly exult in glory let them sing for joy on their beds, 1 Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds, praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound, praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance, praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals, praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise, Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Thank You Heavenly Father our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, for Surely You are worthy to be praised. Thank You. Most Holy Father God, we ask this day that You please Bless those that are sick, and need healing, every man and woman who are fighting in wars, the man and woman that are seeking employment, trying to keep their homes, and families together, the marriages that need mending, the tired and weary. For we know that all power is in Your hands, and if You would just send Your Blessed Holy Spirit, to minister to them that all that You have taught us will come to their remembrance and they will know what it is that You would have them do, that will bring about success and peace, in their situations, and they will wait on You and be of good courage, and You will direct their paths, for You will never leave or forsake any of us. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Precious Lord Christ Jesus, our God, we are not afraid of any man, for You have promised us and we believe that; "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe, But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you, But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one, Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good?, The Lord will protect you from all evil, He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?, When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet, For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy, But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil, He will not fear evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord, For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent, Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no longer, The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways, In famine He will redeem you from death, and in war from the power of the sword, Because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world, Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you, No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,' declares the LORD." Thank You Beloved Father God our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, who love us and cares for us. Thank You. we Pray that with the help of Your Blessed Holy Spirit, we do all things to Your glory this day and always. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus our God.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives. i stand in the gap for all of those in this place, and give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives. Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You.
