A Different Spin On The Virtuous Woman
By Sharilynn "Sherri" McIntosh
Don't resist God's stretching. Leave a legacy behind for others. Deposit something into someone's life. Be a woman of God that makes an impact in other's lives. Trials are part of the territory. Endure them, and go through the fire. Don't jump out. It will make you. It hurts, but determine to overcome. Everything that happens in your life, God has allowed it. He didn't stop it for a reason. Ask God what you are supposed to learn from your trials, not why. He is not trying to destroy you, but trying to make you into a vessel of honor to build character within you. What the enemy meant for evil, God means it for good. You may not have the education, but God will set you up and elevate you. God will use you to show the world how to go through and keep your head up.
Broken In Spirit - Overcome by grief, loss, broken relationships, broken hearted, and hurt by others.
Psalms 51 (NIV):
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgression. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place. Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. Save me from bloodguilt, O God, the God who saves me, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Give your brokenness as a sacrifice to God. Give Him your loss, and He will mend you.
Opening Wounds - Being defiled in spirit, bitter, unapproachable to God, negative outlook on life. Contaminated because of negative circumstances.
Learn to walk along in the Spirit of God. He will surround you to protect you spiritually. Watch your life. Watch your speech. Where are you? Season change. Stand alone so God can get your undivided attention, and speak the secret things to your spirit. He works outside of your familiarity. Don't expect Him to use you at home. He will expand your horizons. He will bring you to a place of challenge - tearing apart your routine to show you His will. Become secure. Your vision has got to be bigger than your small territorial existence. Start to pray for God to enlarge your territory. Grow from glory to glory. Don't be stagnant. Stop expecting certain things to happen. You already know how to live holy. Bitterness in your life destroys everyone else's life that you touch. Stop crying about the past and complaining to others about who did you wrong. God will vindicate you. Don't look for advocates to pay attention to you. Pay attention to God, and minimize your issues.
Ephesians 4:30-32 (NIV):
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Jealousy - Watch out for others who are threatened by the anointing of God on your life. Let go of it in your life, or it will hinder you, and destroy others. Watch out for competitive spirits, rivalries, and ungodly motives that breed insecurity and lack confidence in God. Don't covet success of others - the price of the anointing is costly. The level of the anointing brings demonic attacks. This happens because you are God's woman. It's deeper than the physical manifestations of praise and worship (the dance, etc.) Try bowing down; lie prostrate before Him. Seek Godly wisdom from Him to direct you. It will save you from hurt.
Fear - Fear equals bondage. The Lord wants you to be free. Let go of the obstacles that are binding you. Stop being crippled spiritually. Speak the truth in love.
Genesis 29:1-14 (NIV):
Then Jacob continued on his journey and came to the land of the eastern peoples. There he saw a well in the field, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from the well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large. When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone away from the well's mouth and water the sheep. Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well. Jacob asked the shepherds, "My brothers, where are you from?" "We're from Haran," they replied. He said to them, "Do you know Laban, Nahor's grandson?" "Yes, we know him," they answered. Then Jacob asked them, "Is he well?" "Yes, he is," they said, "and here comes his daughter Rachel with the sheep." "Look," he said, "the sun is still high; it is not time for the flocks to be gathered. Water the sheep and take them back to pasture." "We can't," they replied, "until all the flocks are gathered and the stone has been rolled away from the mouth of the well. Then we will water the sheep." While he was still talking with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep, for she was a shepherdess. When Jacob saw Rachel daughter of Laban, his mother's brother, and Laban's sheep, he went over and rolled the stone away from the mouth of the well and watered his uncle's sheep. Then Jacob kissed Rachel and began to weep aloud. He had told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and a son of Rebekah. So she ran and told her father. As soon as Laban heard the news about Jacob, his sister's son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things. Then laban said to him, "You are my own flesh and blood."
Do not become intimidated, for God has a plan for your life. Don't settle for being in the same place year after year.
Genesis 30:1-2, 22 (NIV):
When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or I'll die!" Jacob became angry with her and said, "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?" Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.
Are the odds against you? God is setting you up for a miracle! Don't defend yourself. Go with the move of God. He will allow time to tell the story. The latter will help the vision to succeed, and save the former. You may be spiritually barren, but the season is about to change.
Here are a few scriptures that will help you to "get over the hump":
1 Peter 1:8 Joy unspeakable and full of glory
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord
Romans 12:18 Live at peace with everyone
1 Corinthians 7:15 God calls us to live in peace
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of
God
John 10:10 The thief comes to kill and destroy, but God brings life
Proverbs 6:31 A thief must pay back sevenfold
Hebrews 12:1 Throw off every sin
We need to learn who is plotting against us. Sometimes the result of despair is suicide. Not in the natural, but in the spiritual. We practice the art of worrying. Stop staying up late and worrying about things that you can't control. God is the only one who is in control, and He grants His beloved sleep. We haven't seen the Savior yet, but we are filled with the joy and anticipation of seeing Him soon. We need to give every worry and anxiety over to God, because He cares for us.
We as women are also famous for what can be known as "the fear syndrome." Terrified of the future, we are apprehensive of what will happen next. God has given us his peace. We will have problems, but we must be strong, courageous and confident that Jesus Christ has overcome the world. Don't allow the chains of guilt and shame to rob you of peace due to past mistakes. Let it go. Remember, if we sin, we have an advocate in Christ. He died to set us free from sin. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed!
Deal with the spirit of unforgiveness. God will not forgive you if you don't forgive others. Don't play the comparison game, either. Stop trying to be someone else. Take the mask off, and allow people to see the real you. Rejoice in the Lord today, and stop mourning yesterday.
