A Person Experiencing Grief or Loss

Psalm 116:15

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

To the families of Mr. Bernie Mac, Mr. Isaac Hayes and to ANYONE ELSE GOING THROUGH THIS OR HAVE RECENTLY GONE THROUGH THIS PAIN I pray the following prayer for you, written by Word Ministries.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I approach Your throne of grace, bringing Bernie's family, Isaac's family and the rest of them experiencing grief before You. I recognize that grieving is a human emotional process, and I give them the space that they need to enter into the rest that You have for them.

Lord, Jesus bore their griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses and distresses) and carried their sorrows and pains; I know that Your Spirit is upon Jesus to bind up and heal their broken hearts. May they be gentle with themselves, knowing that they are not alone in their grief. You are with them, and You will never leave them without support.

Father, I desire to be a doer of Your Word, and not a hearer only. Therefore, I make a commitment to rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and to weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief]. I pray that my love will give them great joy and comfort and encouragement, because they have refreshed the hearts of Your people.

Thank You, Father, for sending the Holy Spirit to comfort, counsel, help, intercede for, defend, strengthen and stand by them in this time of grief and sorrow.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
