Mt25:1-13 v10 But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. v13 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Last year I received one of those dreaded phone calls from my parents that my Aunt Joan had passed away. After they had explained to me what had happened, there was a minute or so of silence. I then belted out: PRAISE GOD, I GET IT! Not a reaction most would expect. You see, my Aunt Joan had died right there in the church hallway delivering a cake for that once a month evening potluck dinner for the homeless. She passed away naturally from a brain aneurysm. Spiritually Aunt Joan passed away while serving Christ and others.
We do not know the day or the hour. We must be ready when the Lord comes for us. You see Aunt Joan had other plans that evening and would not be able to make the dinner. She could have just said, I'll skip baking and go get my hair done. Mt25:31-46 is a great reminder in the differences of serving others (sheep) or serving self (goats)?
I would rather be delivering a cake than sitting in a barbers chair when the bridegroom arrives. I would much rather hear the Lord whisper the words "well done, my good servant" then hear the echos of the goats crying. YSIC Brown Eagle
