Gal6:7-10v9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Being Native American, during the summer my skin turns deeper shades as the sun takes it's journey through the season. This summer my young granddaughter informed Pop Pop and myself, "grandmas brown, I do not like brown." We knew the source from where these words came. Two things broke that day, my heart along with a precious innocence. Can planting seeds of love fade away with anothers sowing seeds of greed, control, anger, envy, jealousy, or prejudice? (v8)
Wouldn't we be surprised if we planted corn seed, and pumkins sprang up? Paul reminds us in these verses to continue doing good and to trust God for the results. Would one plant, & then not "continue" to feed & water? My husand and I this summer continued sowing our seeds of love into Little Bear, feeding and watering, and most importantly placing our trust in God.
Two months later, Little Bear came up to me with my husband standing there. "Grandma, I thanked for you." Surprised, I asked her what she had meant. She replied, " I thanked God for you." Both of us stood speechless. Speechless was soon replaced with I love you along with huge hugs. Little Bear responded, "I love you too Grandma, very much." A bountiful harvest of love was reaped.
Life gets difficult not understanding the choices, decisions, or actions of others, loved ones, or even ourselves. The Lord tells us in verse 9 to not become weary in doing good and to not give up. Responses of frustration, discouragement, worry, fear wear us down or cause some to even quit. Whisper: Continue sowing and trusting God for the results, a bountiful harvest to reap awaits.
