Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
*******************************************************************...
As Resurrection Sunday approaches this year, we should remember that it is important for us as believer to equip others (especially our young on references to CHRIST. We know it is not about the cute decorations and colored eggs, so I wanted to share a way that I have been teaching about colors and info to elementary age children. We all have children, grands, nieces, and nephews that are young in our families and every little bit of encouragement goes a long way. I wanted to share some info from Crosswalk Magazine that help explain the colors used for the eggs and clothing worn during this season.
Black- represents the death of Christ for the Redeeming of our souls. The passion of the
where HE substituted for our sins and purchased our freedom and set us on a course
to be eligible for KINGDOM residence. This life is not all there is but a steppingstone
a future horizon.
Purple- is associated with LENT and symbolizes Royalty of Christ as (King of Kings). It also
is identified as the color of the Purple Robe (Mark 15:16-20 as is a reminder of
penitence, introspection, reflection, morality and spirituality.
Pink- is associated with the 4th Sunday of Lent (40 days before Easter/Resurrection. Pink
rose hues represent warmth, joy, and Grace. This season evokes emotion in believers.
White- This is representation of purity. Think of GRACE- innocence, goodness, and triumph
of Christ. It also reflects the clothes that Christ wore "bright white." (Mark 9:3) also,
in (Isaiah 1:18), it signifies forgiveness and being given a clean slate "white as snow."
Red- is for the BLOOD of Christ on Good Friday at the cross. It is also associated with
Palm Sunday and Pentecost in celebration of the coming Holy Spirit, The SPIRIT of
Christ remaining with us here to all who would receive Him.
Gold and Yellow-are associated with Glory of Resurrection power and triumph of good over
evil. Also, in book of Revelations 21:18-21, gold is mentioned in context of Jesus
Salvation for mankind in the New Jerusalem.
Green- It represents celebration of New Life. It"s spring so we see nature comes forth with
buds, blooms and brilliant color.it symbolizes the hope alive in believers and the
promise of a glorious future full of new mercies and experiences in God's Family.
So as you prepare to color eggs, decorate, and get Easter clothes- share what the colors
really are about and they may be small but they too, need to be equipped. We are
one day to pass the torch. We are leaving a legacy in their hands remember that.
God Bless You and Keep You my friends.
