Mt24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mt25:13Acts1:7
Do you remember the tale of Henny Penny, better known as Chicken Little. The little chicken gets hit in the head by an acorn and believes the sky is falling down. Flapping about she decides to tell the King, and meets other animals, who join in the journey.
On my path today, I have been approached by numerous flapping, fearful, and worried "Henny Pennies". "The economy is crashing, the world will end in 2012, the great meteor strike, global warming" and the list continues on. People believe this as truth. With so much time spent flapping and worrying, their path/life soon becomes choked by weeds. These weeds hide truth, muffel sound, block direction, and prohibit travel. A path not easy for one to travel on, much less to follow another down.
Mt 24:36-51 Here, Jesus' purpose in telling about His return was not to stimulate predictions and precise calculations about date, but to warn us to be prepared. v45-47 v46 It will be good for that servant whose Master finds him doing so when He returns. Mt25:1-13
Paths branch off in different directions. A path grown in with false securitys (weeds), calculations (weeds), and predictions (weeds) will DIVERT us from doing Gods work, building His kingdom. One on a path with many weeds, limits one reaching. Our feet need to remain on the cleared, narrow path. But: our arms are still able to reach out and to continue in love, pulling many weeds.
Whisper: Lord, in Isa 40:3...prepare the way for the Lord: could this include clearing/removing weeds, so that You will be able to reach another?
If an acorn lands on your head, plant it so it can feed many hungry squirrels. YSIC Brown Eagle
