Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
AS YOU WALK WITH JESUS
As you walk this life with Jesus; along comes trouble or temptation.
You’re safe under the blood; but has his ways of wicked persuasion
He never approaches you in the persona of a horned revolting beast.
The enemy enters your personal space in forms anticipated the least.
As you walk faithfully with Jesus; uh oh, here comes a bit of your past.
A portion of your existence you had all but forgotten about at long last.
That old fiend dangles that forgotten morsel in front of your weak flesh.
Next thing you know; your entire existence has become a dreadful mess.
You have put the past at your back as you look tranquilly straight ahead.
The old dark one conjures up feelings you have pretended were long dead.
You thoughtlessly directed your eyes away from Jesus for just a little while.
In an eye’s blink that old evil spirit stands there in front of you with a smile.
This is one of the certainties of this life I have learned in the truest of ways.
It is a hard learned lesson that I will carry with me for the rest of my days.
I thought the world had nothing else that could make me think to look back.
I was dreadfully erroneous; my consecrated spirit practically got snatched.
Watch as you pray; at all times you have to be vigilant; and prepared to act.
The father of lies is cunning; he is a slick customer; I know that to be a fact.
When I grasped that this beauty from my past was only Satan’s vicious hoax,
I sprinted quickly to Jesus Christ; He has proven to me that he loves me most.
The awful thing of it is that I had been warned by the Holy Spirit at the start.
I chose not to pay attention; I followed my sightless, defenseless, foolish heart.
The heartache I stumbled upon was vicious; it was especially broad and deep.
I couldn’t think or function as I should; I could scarcely eat or get some sleep.
This was beyond all doubt; not the way I desired for my internal spirit to feel.
Disgrace in hand; I went to Jesus for comfort; now my broken heart can heal.
When you get too comfortable on this journey; beware of the wiles of the devil.
He’ll come in wearing a cloak; he’ll pull the wool over your eyes on your level.
