Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
James 2:15-16 (NIV)
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
Within the body of Christ, if we see our brother or sister in need, and we can help them, we are not showing love if we ignore what they’re going through. We must walk along this journey called life together, and help each other out. It’s not enough to pray and fast without action, especially if you know that you can lend a hand in some way. This is the problem with most of our churches. We have lost sight of what the early disciples and apostles did. They all pitched in their money, time, talent, treasure and possessions into one place, so not only was the Word of God being ministered on a daily basis, but everyone’s needs were met. Wouldn’t that be something to see in this day and time? Then we could eliminate the government programs, because the church would come together and meet the needs of the poor, while ministering to their souls. Things that make you go hmmm.
