Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
John 14:16-17 (KJV)
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Isn’t it interesting how the world has plenty of answers for what ails us? They have self help gurus, yoga, pills for every real or imagined pain, television shows featuring “experts” and so on. Even the church lends a listening ear to personalities like Donald Trump and Robert Miyoki. Don’t get me wrong; while Oprah and Dr. Phil might be able to offer some sound advice that makes sense, we’ve already been given a Divine Counselor directly from the throne of grace. When Jesus returned to Heaven, He promised not to leave us alone and without comfort. The Holy Spirit acts as our guide, our conscience and speaks on our behalf when we don’t have the words. So, when we pray, the Holy Spirit takes over when we’ve reached our limit and are no longer able to verbalize our sorrows. That’s the comfort we experience.
