Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Mark 6:12 (NIV)
They went out and preached that people should repent.
That’s not a very popular word in this day and time. People think that as long as they’re doing good, that they will go to Heaven. Nobody wants to think about sin. As a matter of fact, they feel that if what they do doesn’t hurt anyone else, then they’re not sinning. Folks do not want to take responsibility for their own actions, and want to blame their parents, siblings, the teacher, the dog, the cat, and everyone else’s mama for what they won’t or will do. The truth is lost in a bunch of lies. It’s sad, but even the church has gotten caught up in the feel good, prosperity gospel. Some are screaming at the top of their lungs “money cometh to me!” Please don’t get me wrong, because the Word of God tells us that He wants us to prosper, even as our soul prospers. However, the world, and the church in some cases, has forgotten that there is a lost and dying world that needs to hear more than “God is love”. Yes, He is absolutely a loving, forgiving God, who wants an intimate and personal relationship with His creation, but don’t get it twisted. We are all God’s creation, but not all God’s children. The only way that we can become His child is to follow Romans 10:9-10, which tells us that if we accept Jesus Christ with our mouth, and believe in Him with our heart, we will be saved. We have to acknowledge that we are a sinner, in need of a Savior. I don’t know about you, but it took an Almighty God to love me. Apart from Him, I am nothing, and here’s a newsflash, neither are you. But once we do repent, which means to turn away from sin, and get into a relationship with God, He has a whole bunch of promises in His word that tells us what He thinks about us, and how we are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him. We are not an accident. He knew fully well what He was doing when He created us with a destiny and purpose. Why not come to Him today? I promise you that it will be worth it.
