Psalms 24:1
Psalms 24:1 (NRSV)
The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it.
So often I think of myself as being autonomous and independent, or I think of myself in terms of my roles and relationships here on earth. The reality, dear Lord, is different than how I think and how I feel. The truth is that I belong to You. You made me, You sustain me, You have saved me, and You promise me that I am eternally Yours. Help me live wholeheartedly for You today, and not merely to please myself or those around me. Help me trust You by giving You Your rightful place as Lord of my life.
