Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (NIV)

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

This passage of scripture reminds me of an old song called “Learning to Lean.” When we learn to lean on Jesus, and depend on Him, we will realize that He alone is our source, and we shouldn’t be looking to another to help us in the time of need. It’s good to have resources, but oftentimes you may have to explain your situation, and everyone doesn’t have your best interest at heart. So that you’re deepest secrets don’t end up on the 11:00 news, pray for wisdom and discernment when sharing with someone, but trust in the Savior.
