Colossians 3:9-10

Colossians 3:9-10 (NIV)

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

The saints of old used to say, “tell the truth, and shame the devil.” It’s a lot easier to tell a sweet lie than to tell the bitter truth. People would rather you be less than honest with them, because they can’t handle the truth. The Word of God holds us accountable to be truthful in our dealings with each other, because His word is truth.
