Isaiah 55:12

Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Happiness is a temporary state of mind. We may get good news from someone, or a piece of mail that may make us happy, but that won’t last. In the midnight hour, when we’re really going through, and the tears are falling, the Lord wants us to remember that He gives us joy unspeakable and full of glory. We can trade our sorrows, and put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
