Job 12:12-13 (NIV)

Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding? “To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.”

There is a reason why the aged have wisdom. It’s because they made their mistakes early, learned from them, and can share with the rest of us how not to go down that road. This is why they are blessed with long life and have gained an understanding as to what not to do, so that God gets the glory out of their lives. We should follow suit.
