John 3:16

John 3:16 (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It took an incredible amount of love to know in advance what it would take to redeem mankind, and come down to earth and do it.  The world wasn’t, and in some cases, still isn’t ready to accept the gift of life that Jesus provided when He said, “It is finished.”  There are no more animal sacrifices that need to be done.  When the curtain of the Holy of Holies was torn in two at Calvary, it really was done.  All that needs to be done is to say yes and thank You for the precious gift of salvation that was so freely given to us.  Accept the love of God, and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, who had no reservations about dying for a world that not only didn’t deserve this gift, but still stands today, with His arms stretched wide open, knocking at the door of our hearts.  Let Him in, and begin the wonderful journey of a new life in Christ.
