Proverbs 8:17 (NIV)

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

God loves everyone who loves Him. The problem is that there are plenty of people that say they love God, but they don’t spend any time with Him, nor do they have a relationship with Him. How can you say that you love your spouse, yet you never spend any time with them in prayer, talk to them or go out with them? What about only dealing with them when you need something? That’s not how you want to deal with the Creator of the universe. God deserves way better than that.
