Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Micah 6:10-12 (KJV)
Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
Doesn’t that sound a bit like the country that we live in, and the government officials? Before you start agreeing and finger pointing, can we look in the mirror? The Word tells us that judgment starts in the house of God, not the White House or the State House. Be honest; while the various officials had their day in court for their wrongdoings, was the church praying for their souls? When the President had missteps, were we fasting and crying out to God to give direction to our leaders? Or were we like the rest of the world, assassinating them with our words, tearing down as opposed to building up? Yes, there is a lot wrong with our country, but we are still “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” We need to count our blessings that we don’t suffer the same type of religious persecution that other nations do. We as a people need to repent, collectively and individually, for the many sins committed against a holy and righteous God, who is merciful enough not to wipe us out, which is what we really deserve. If we are serious about praying for our nation, we need to do exactly what God commands in 2 Chronicles 7:14 before we can expect to see any major changes take place.
