Proverbs 23:4-5
Proverbs 23:4-5 (NIV)
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
I had to learn this from experience. Not necessarily trying to get rich, but trying to keep my head above water. Of course, the enemy jumps all over that mentality, because we haven’t put our trust in God to be Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. We have to stop spending money on frivolous things, and trust Him with our finances.
