Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Luke 18:20 (KJV)
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
In this present day and time, we hear a lot about murders happening. You can’t turn on the news or read a newspaper without seeing a story about this type of death. Unfortunately, there are more children and young people dying in our streets than ever before. I know that this isn’t a popular subject, but the Lord commands us to honor our parents, so that our days will be extended. That is the only commandment with a promise. This doesn’t have an age limit on it, although once we grow up and marry; the role and relationship will change. As sad as it sounds, I believe that God is not pleased with us as a people; perhaps because of our disobedience, which has spilled into the next generation. If we can’t serve and obey God, the giver of life and all good things, then we don’t reverence Him, we don’t show the proper respect to our parents, and therefore are a bad example to our children, who are only acting on what they’ve seen and heard. Do you see the pattern the enemy has laid out as a trap for us? We must be vigilant and sober minded enough to repent (see 2 Chronicles 7:14) and cry out to God to heal our land, and snatch our babies out of the enemy’s mouth to keep him from devouring them. Our prayer should be for God to soften the heart of our misguided youth, so that they will turn to Jesus Christ, the only one who can save them, and us, in these last and evil days.
