Furthering The Good News. Acts:26-39. (The Gospel)

OVERVIEW

Nothing just happens! Nothing is just luck! Nothing is just a coincident! Everything is orchestrated by God. Have you ever had a problem and you didn't know what to do and suddenly God sent a person to give you the answer you needed? Or you didn't have the money to pay your bills and God sent someone to just give you the exact amount or enough money to handle your business? Or it may not have been any of those situations, but you were in dire-straight and couldn't see your way out, but suddenly God moved on your behalf? How many of us are in the desert of our lives, how many of us are at a place in our spiritual walk that is barren and dry? Well, welcome to our lesson!

The Ethiopian had a perplexing question and, and Phillip had the Answer

Remember Abraham's meeting with Melchizedek brought blessing and depended his faith in God (Gen.14;18-24) Naaman's trip to Elisha's house led to his healing from leprosy (11Kings 5:1-14). Jesus' visit with Zacchaeus brought about the tax collector's salvation ( Luke 19:1-10. We are all where God places us


We find Philip getting directives from an angel telling him to go to Gaza, which is a desert. How many of us would have gone to the desert? What's in the desert but dry land and dirt. How many of us would have obeyed the angel, without questions or hesitations? Philip went as he was told and there in the desert found an Ethiopian man, who was sitting in the desert, in his chariot, reading the word of God.

The Spirit told Philip to go and join the man, who was reading the word out loud. Naturally, Philip heard him and asked him, do you understand what you are reading? The man replied, no, how can I except someone guide me. The Ethiopian was ready for the truth, his heart was ready to received truth and he took the sayings of Philip and his spiritual eyes were opened.

As a result, Philip preached with so much conviction and as they traveled they came upon some water. Let's be real, what are the odds or chances of water being in the desert at the very moment Philip and the man was passing by? The Ethiopian saw the water and wanted to be baptized. Philip and the man went into the water and the man was indeed baptized. Then, suddenly, immediately the Spirit took Philip to another city. The Ethiopian and Philip never saw each other again. That was a divine appointment!
