“HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY”
Equipped for Godliness
Lesson: II Peter 1:3-14
In this letter Peter is addressing the Christians to let them know that God has equipped them with everything that they need to live a godly life and to receive the promises that God made to them. They no longer have to live a sinful and corrupted lifestyle as the world does. In receiving Christ, they have been empowered with faith, virtue, patience, kindness, temperance, charity (hope), gentleness, integrity, meekness, joy, peace, forgiveness, and love for towards one another. As these traits of Christ is embedded into your spirit, you will become fruitful in the knowledge of word of God. However, Peter said that if we lack and do not have any of these Godly traits or characters inside of us, we are blind and we still will walk in sin and do things that is contrary to the will of God. Peter encouraged the Christians to be more diligent in their calling and in their faith and once we do these things we will not fall. Peter said to take heed to the word that has been ministered to them, so that they can live their lives in the way that will be pleasing to God. They cannot live any kind of way as a Christian. Peter told them that God wants us to be holy and consecrate our lives unto God.
