Ezekiel 34:23-31. God's Promises to be with us
Who is Ezekiel? His name means. ("God' strengthens)
Ezekiel was a man who. Chose to obey God. He was a priest before a Prophet (Ezekiel 1:1)
At this time Ezekiel had been taken captive to Babylon and he become a Prophet to Exiles
ISREAL had sinned, and God's punishment came. . The fall of Jerusalem and the Babylonian exile was used by God to correct the rebels and draw them back from there sinful way of life. Ezekiel warned them that not only was the Nation. Responsible for sin but each individual was also accountable to God
Each one of us are accountable to God.
God blamed false Shepherd (spiritual leaders) for the scattering of His people
Eze 34:5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. The Spiritual leaders of Israel failed to feed God's flock the Word of God
(meat to all the beast) means if you are not taught the word of God you will follow any documents out there any colt. Remember Jim Jones. You must study the word yourself, read your bible
Where the word of God is not preached, the flock (Church) is not fed
In Ezekiel 34:2 God asked "Should not the Shepherds feed the flocks?
Ezekiel criticized Israel's leaders for taking care of themselves rather than there people. We leaders in the Church. Today. Must not fall into this trap spending time and money to promote or enjoy themselves when they should be providing for the need of there flock
Bad Shepherd. Take care of themselves
Worries about there own health
Rules harshly and brutally
Abandon and scatter the sheep
Good Shepherd. Take care of their flock
Search for the lost
Give there best to the sheep
Pray for the. Sheep
A bad shepherd is not only selfish but destructive .
A minister who muddies the water for others by raising unnecessary doubt, teaching false ideals, and acting sinful is destroying his flock's spiritual Nourishment
Chapter Ezekiel is saying to God's people. In contrast to the present evil Shepherds (leaders ) of God's people God will send a perfect Shepherd.
Eze 34:23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Eze 34:24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
Eze 34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
Eze 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
Eze 34:27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
Eze 34:28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
Eze 34:29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
Eze 34:30 Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 34:31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.
We have a perfect Shepherd, His name is Jesus
