Jesus spoke about authority in Matthew 17:20 -- The scenario was a boy was'healed' as in the demon (called epileptic, hmm) cast out of him -- and when the disciples asked why they could not cast it out, Jesus' answer gives us great insight into the beginnings of Authority.
"So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."
And as a clear step the next verse states the initial and key process:
"However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting."
So to get to the place of authority, you begin with prayer -- seeking God with all your heart, and submitting your will for God's Will to be done -- and fasting, as in turning away from the physical needs of the soul/body, or demands of the soul/body, or desires of the soul/body and trusting soley in God to meet these needs spirit, soul and body.
Now fasting for some breaks the mind/emotions connection or drive. Peace is the focus, as God is desired and we are still and knowing Him, in and through the Holy Spirit, in and through Jesus Christ.
Many of you have probably gone through this beginning -- have you arrived at the place of the fasting life -- 24/7 -- as in you trusting in God and not leaning to your own understanding about life, but trusting God to lead and guide you into all Truth, always, 24/7?
While we begin at one point there is always the place of eternal life that we step into -- and in eternity we are in the place of true authority.
I look forward to sharing what the Spirit, the Lord has led me in regarding "True Authority" and to those called, and willingly prepared praying together for God's Will to be done.
Amen.
