Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
BASIC INTERCESSION - Part 5 - CONDITIONS & PROMISE
Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of God, the first born from the dead - the risen one. He is Lord, He is Savior and soon coming King. He is the one who ever lives to make intercession for us. Yes? Yes!
So how is it we abide in Him? Who makes this possible for us to follow Jesus and be taught 'of' Him? Isn't it the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth -- and didn't Jesus state 'I Am the Truth. . . .' Yes, and it is this simple truth that makes a way out of no way for us to intercede.
In the Wods of our Lord found in John 15:7, you find the conditions for answered prayer, as well and the promise of God.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
* CONDITIONS:
** If you ABIDE in ME
** If MY WORDS abide in you
* PROMISE:
** YOU shall ASK what you will
** And IT SHALL be done unto you
God never changes and His promises are forever. The key to answered prayer is in the 'abiding' in Jesus, and His Words 'abiding ' in us -- So we can see a key purpose for the written word here, becoming one with God through Jesus, the Living Word.
Notice, that Jesus states 'ask what you will'. At this level of prayer, you are one with Him, and the Father, and the Holy Spirit and they are one and living in you. So your will is in full agreement and alignment with Jesus'/God the Fathers's, and the Holy Spirit's will.
Many people pray 'IF it be They will O Lord' - and while this is a learning tool, as you grow in your relationship with God, by the time you get to the intercession level, you are mature and if is not a part of your prayers -- as you have grown in your oneness with God. You do have to focus on the fact that you live in the 'earthen vessel' your body -- and you MUST be humble - and not arrogant in the Truth of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) abiding in you. So the 'IF' factor is a good learning tool that helps young, inexperienced, immature believers focus on God's will rather than their own.
Mature believers need to know the Truth, and if becomes something that you question, truly, then if can be a part of the prayer. Mature believers are still growing even in their maturity -- the purpose of cautioning 'IF' is not to get stuck in any limitations, but to continue to grow and learn and move in the true authority God has for you in Jesus Christ.
