The Scripture:Luke 11:9-13 KJV
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Amplifed Version:
9 So I say to you, Ask and [a] keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and [b] keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and [c] keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks and [d]keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and [e]keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and [f]keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened.
11 What father among you, if his son asks for [g]a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13 If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts [h]that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and [i]continue to ask Him!
The Ampified version of verse 10 states the process of asking (Ask, Seek, Knock) you start asking and keep on asking (continually)and you DO and Will continue to RECEIVE - hmmm -
And if you seek for the answers from God, and keep on seeking (continually) and you DO and WILL continue to FIND - hmm -
And finally, if you knock and keep on knocking (continually) and the Door IS opened a will continue to OPEN - hmmm.
Ask is a 'HUMILITY' factor of our new life - as in recognizing we have needs for a purpose -- to keep us in the state of humility.
You do remember Jesus in the Garden, sweating blood. He faced the challenge of His soul wanting to get away from the drama/trauma coming. He struggled with laying aside what his mind was 'freaking out' about - and CHOOSING to do God's Will -- this is what I am talkin' about.
Forget About what your 'mind knows' even from revelations of/by the Holy Spirit. Let it all go - lay down your understanding of life - an Ask God - What is Your Will - 'cause that's what 'I am' choosing to do.
ASK. . . . .
