THE CROSS - TRUE AUTHORITY - 2

If you haven't read The Cross-True Authority - 1 - please do so before continuing on with this section.  Thanks.

Continuing:  Are you aware of what happened with Jesus on the Cross?  As in the total debt he paid for you to be free?  He bore all the sins of the world -

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

1 John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Isaiah 53:5 
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

So Jesus paid for our transgressions, iniquities, our peace and healing - he was whipped with strips of leather with broken pottery inserted and stones - so the flesh was ripped off of Jesus' body when He was whipped with 40 stripes. 

Jesus was also punched and parts of His beard ripped out, and a crown of 2" thorns shoved on His head piercing His scalp and entering into His brain.  All this before He was nailed to the cross, and hung for hours (8?) before forgiving all and breathing His last earthly breath.  He died and descended into Hell - where He preached new life to those who had not received the news - and then ROSE from the dead on the 3rd day.  

This means the price for us to BE FREE in NEW LIFE IN CHRIST - was PAID IN FULL.

Now the scripture of Galatans 2 - whole chapter - gives great insight on part of what we have been freed from - the letter of the law -- any letter of law.  Have you experienced people preaching and teaching on sin/behavior - and the guilt and condemnation over-whelms you?  Un huh!

• Romans 5:16 (Whole Chapter)
  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by ONE to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
  
  
• Romans 8:1 (Whole Chapter)
  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  
  God knew we would need to KNOW that we are free from condemnation - the legal aspect of it - but the bearing about in our bodies the memory of it - well that is why we are to pick up our cross - daily and die to ourselves - as in the memory pattern of sin in our lives.
