- My intent for being here is: (A) Promote my technology and expose my opportunity to interested business thinking people that want to participate in this current shift of wealth due to the global communication [digital] revolution. I’ve got 30+ years combined education and experience in (1) Commercial & Residential Architecture (2) Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (3) Facility Management/Space Planning (3) CAD technology and (4) Testing-Adjusting-Balancing Environmental Systems. The affects of a 4/2004 auto accident caused me not to be able to continue disciplines 1 thru 4 as of 7/2006, thus “One door closed and another door was opened". I'm currently a technology business owner licensed to do business in US and 20 countries abroad and I'm truly blessed! Thank you for your time in reviewing me. No matter how shy you feel, I tell my kids, you can always say thank you. But sometimes it's hard to speak our thanks.
"You shouldn't have," we say instead. "You did too much."
Or, "Please. I don't deserve something so extravagant."
Or we nod our heads brusquely and turn away, embarrassed to acknowledge what we've received.
What is it that gets in our way of accepting a gift? Is it our sense of unworthiness? Or at the opposite end of the spectrum, is it our pride? Either way, we're usually looking only at ourselves. Pride and embarrassment aren't so very different from each other; they're both self-conscious.
Thankfulness turns us outward; however, it takes the focus off ourselves. It allows us to reach out and accept what is given to us, simply, honestly, humbly.
And in the end, the truest friendships are built on that simple, honest humility.
