The Key To Heaven
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:13 (KJV)
Do you want to receive whatever you want from God. I am going to tell you how to get it. You must be a person who loves like Jesus loves, and believes on Him. That is doing His works. He goes on to tell you, the person who walks in love, how you can do greater works than His. He said to ask the Father anything in His name. The name of Jesus is the key that unlocks the door of heaven.
Notice the word, whatsoever. He said whatever you ask. Then He said, if you ask anything in His name He will do it. And He didn't stop there. He further said, if you love Him and keep His commandments. You cannot move the command of walking in love away from getting whatever you want. They go hand in hand. If you are going to ask and receive from God you are going to have to keep his commandments. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
Jesus said in St. John 16:22-23, "And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you." (KJV)
Another word for whatsoever is anything. In other words, Jesus has become our high priest. He said to come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help in time of need. Jesus, in His high priestly ministry, is going to be the one between you and the Father, as the mediator taking your request before God. He does this, once again, because the Father loves you; and you love as Jesus loves, in the secret place of the Most High God, confident in the name of Jesus.
