The Lenten Journey 2018: Walk Closer Posted: 17 Feb 2018 05:17 AM PST “Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, A walk is one of the most powerful mind-body connections we can experience. A brisk walk clears your mind, gets your heart pumping, stimulates circulation and moves more air through your lungs releasing emotional as well as chemical toxins. A longer walk of more than 30 minutes at a time is mentally stimulating, mood elevating, physical exercise encouraged for healthier living. When is the last time you went for a walk? Do you walk every day? We should also understand that when we walk in our spiritual journey, trusting God means moving forward in faith nourished by reading scripture, prayer and fasting as well as praise and worship. This is a way to unleash inner power to overcome in a toxic world. We ask God to be with us along the way as we walk beyond fear with wisdom. Trusting the journey with God keeps us secure especially when our pathways appear unclear, uncertain, dangerous or dark. During Lent we should moving for a closer walk. A daily step-by-step experience as expressed in “Just A Close Walk with Thee” a familiar hymn: “Just a closer walk with Thee Reflections: · Walk in your own capacity, do what you can do.
