"Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness and his chambers by wrong..." Jeremiah 22:13
Building a house is a complicated deal. There is a blueprint, a foundation, a structure, materials, tools, codes, an approval process and more. At every turn of the building process, there are measurements, and data that must be addressed with great accuracy. How much and what type of material is needed for the foundation? Once the foundation is poured, is it level?
Being level and balanced is key for proper construction of a house from start to finish. What if these requirements were made for the people who live in the house? How many of us would be up to code? How many of us might have had our families condemned?
As you build your house, be sure that your character-what is in the midst of you, your heart, the place of your morality- is built up first, for the bible declares woe for those who build using unrighteousness for materials, and wrong as a supply. Unrighteousness is big, at first glance, it is the opposite of righteousness, but on further examination, it is the opposite of God's way and system of doing things.
When you build your house, your dwelling place, your seat of authority; when you begin to put together the resting place for your wife and children, it must be built on that which is righteous.
Let's Reflect...
1. What are your goals for your family?
2. What are your priorities?
3. Does your lifestyle mirror righteousness, or unrighteousness? Do you need to change?
