Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer

Why do we treat people who are different from us badly, when they come to church?

They might not look like us, act like us, dress like us, or they might even speak different from us.

Why do I say this? Because it is true, my oldest son Myles has Tourette Syndrome and has had it for approximately 19+ years. He gets discriminated against when he goes to different churchs. Many african americans, minorities, or non-minorities have not heard of Tourette Syndrome or are not aware of Tourette Syndrome.

(Side note: He is not offended by the actions of others, because he is secure in who he is and the man that he has become! This is is to help others who might not have a voice)

What is Tourette Syndrome?

As you may or may not know, Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a genetic, neurobiological disorder, characterized by involuntary movements and sounds that are known as "tics." Tics are quite common in childhood, but in moderate or severe cases tics can cause functional impairment, social impairment, and pain. In addition to tics themselves, the usual person with TS has other difficulties because of accompanying and associated disorders. The two most common are attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

It has come to my attention that not only has my son has had problems with going to church(s), but that others who have Tourette Syndrome. I am aware of a child less than 13 years old that has Tourette Syndrome and the child has gotten discriminated against from a "minister" in their church, and the parents do not go and are looking for another church. People, this should not be!

Even people who have other type of disabilities, the homeless, people who are poor, the ones in prison, and we brush them off and treat them like they should not be in Church. If they can't go to church, then where can they go?

Why is that? We say that we Love God, we Love Jesus, and we are saved or that we are a christian, but our actions don't show it!

You might not understand this, but for those of you who do, let's make sure that we treat people the way that God says to!

When we complain abou our problems and the things that we do not have. Think about the other person who may not have it as good as you, but they do not complain like you do. They are also thankful for what they do have and who they are!

This is the reason that I posted his videos so that you will be aware of what Tourette Syndrome is. Not only for my son, but for the little children who want to go to church, for the elderly who are alone, for the poor, for the homeless, for the ones in prison, but do not get shown the real Love of God!

The next time that you run into someone that is different from you, remember it could be Jesus.

St. Matthew 25 : 31 - 46

31. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory;

32. And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.

33. And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36. Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38. When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39. Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43. I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46. And these shall go away into everylasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
