Choices!
The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
John 12:25 NIV
All that we embrace has an immensely significant level of importance to us. We plan, prepare for and pursue with purpose what we believe to be best for us. It is amazing how the Lord allows us to do what we want to do all the way up until the appointed time of destiny. It is at that point we are called to make a decision. This is a decision that is both life altering and life defining.
The choices set before us is not complex. The choice comes down to what we want or what God has purposed. It sounds simple but it is not easy. It is a decision that many struggle with. It is a struggle because it comes down to having to giving up a life and a lifestyle established with the investment of time, sacrifice and hard work.
The rich young ruler efforts had amassed great riches. The time for decision came for him when Jesus asked him to sell what he had, give to the poor and follow Him. When it came to choices, he chose to walk away from God ordained purpose to continue life his way. This happened because his heart had been given to his riches and all that he had obtained more than what he was willing to give his heart to God.
What God has purposed for us mandates a life exchange. The Almighty cannot release to us that which He has ordained until we release to Him that which means most to us, our life. It is a good thing to know what we want or don't want, what we will or will not do, what we like or don't like but too often that is what stands in the way of God's plan. Society and carnal living has conditioned our flesh to be resistant to God and godly choices. This is why the road we have tried to avoid most is the place where we will discover destiny.
The exchange will not deplete and take away from us life but instead and in exchange it will release us to live life at another level. It is time to release what we want for what God has ordained. It is a decision never to be regretted. Amen!
So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come, eternal life.
Mark 10:29 & 30 NKJV
