COME UP! COME OUT!

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6) KJV

As the weeks become shorter when I will journey back to my birthplace Corpus Christi (Latin: body of Christ). As I journey back in the month and to the place where many years ago my mother was laid to rest, I meditated on my godly assignment. I praise God for the blessing to once again pray over this loving and gentle woman’s grave, whose womb from whence I came. I glorify God that I have reached a spiritual maturity to understand and rejoice in “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” [1 Corinthians 15:55] I will go to Padre Island (Father Island) and stand on the soil and pray into the sea, for by God’s grace I who left spiritually as a girl am now returning, a woman of God. I am going back to the (womb), the gulf. I go back to stand in the gap and from my belly filled with the Holy Ghost fire I declare and decree to the winds the* “Rebirthing from Wounded Wombs”. Reflecting on all of this, I remembered the words to the song “The Denied Stone”. I requested this song to play at Mother’s home going service while many family members and friends viewed her body. This was my final act of obedience to my mother and the beginning of obedience to the Holy Spirit; consoling her mourners when her life was gone. This was symbolic of my mother’s constant, yet quiet love and Christian counsel to all. As this song gave solace that day to so many including myself; today I pray this same song ( see below) gives you solace and brings peace to those who feel alone, hurt beyond recovery, abandoned and confused.
