Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer

Good God Sunday Morning “Don’t Be a Knock-Off” …“Step into Your Blessing” …WORD AND PRAISE

Psalms 119: 133 “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”(KJV)
This is one of the Lord's mercies to His chosen, those that seek holiness -- "He keepeth the feet of His saints…” (1 Samuel 2:9)

By God’s grace we are able to walk step by step in the very place which His word ordains. Psalms 119 is a prayer seeking God to give the prayer favor and direct his/her every step, that is to say, that every individual act, every step, might be given and governed by the will of God.

Every Saint has a past and every sinner can have a future.

Today as I sit back and contemplate the goodness of the Lord, I thought of the significance of the stumbles, the falls and the uphill climbs we take through life. I thought of the steps , no matter how minute or enormous they appear to be to us, are precise and perfect in God’s planning if we only live by the Word of God . God tells us in Roman 8:27-28 “Love Me and I will see to it that all things work together for your good…for I know the mind of My Spirit and I am constantly interceding for you according to My will.”

I reflect on how if we are obedient to the word with each step we take, no matter how one may think it is insignificant or irrelevant in comparison to each other, gives testimony to God’s wisdom and always present love for us. I considered how from our very first step as a toddler, legs wobbling and unsteady as a newborn colt we venture out. We instinctively set out to conquer a new horizon; brave a new world of becoming independent. Even from the beginning we are unsure of the outcome but wanting to walk like the other humans around us we stand and begin to mimic what we see , unaware that our steps have already been ordered; our path has already been marked. If one does not gain godly knowledge and wisdom this pattern can last all through life; from the beginning to the end… “A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps”. Proverbs 16:9

If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, wherein you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the swelling of Jordan? (Jeremiah 12:5)

As Christians we battle against the same devil; struggling against similar challenges and adversities. Our journey, our steps are on the same narrow road to holiness, the Word says in Isaiah 35:8 “And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.”

Another scripture Matthew 7:13 refer to Christ Jesus as the “Strait Gate.” He is Himself is “the door” (John 10:7)

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”

“Enter ye in at the strait gate - Christ here compares the way to life to an entrance through a gate. The words "straight" and "strait" have very different meanings. The former means "not crooked;" the latter, "pent up, narrow, difficult to be entered." This is the word used here, and it means that the way to heaven is "pent up, narrow, close," and not obviously entered. The way to death is open, broad, and thronged. The Saviour here referred probably to ancient cities.” (Barnes)

So we are on familiar terms that as Christians we know; we walk through life by steps directed by God, on a narrow road to accomplish holiness, which access is achieved through Jesus Christ. Yes, we serve the same God; yes, we fight the same good fight; and yes we are to spread the same good news “But” God has a unique plan, unique purpose and a unique path for each of His children.

We read in Psalms 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare”.

Let us stop for a moment and embrace this scripture of God’s wondrous plans and paths; and of our uniqueness. Different yet they still lead to the same narrow road, entered via the same strait gate.

Don’t’ Be a Knock –Off

Don’t let the Enemy trick you into coveting what are not yours and work under the spirit of mimicking and thievery. Most everyone has heard the cliché “knock-off”, in the fashion world, it means an imitation; a duplication of an original. The problem with “knock offs” is that they have no durability and dependability. For examples shoes: From a distance they look like the real thing but upon close observation one will notice they are not of pristine quality and made hastily and without the skill of craftsmanship. The shoes are not durable to the harsh environments and are uncomfortable to the wearer; resulting in a short time span of usage. This shoddy attempt of fraud can result in bodily harm, embarrassment and loss of investment.

This illustration is a comparison between walking in one’s own shoes versus walking in the shoes God has ordained you to wear.

This acknowledgement brings to the surface a sensitive issue that needs addressing, demolishing the Spirit of Defiance this feat is accomplished by conquering the spirit of insecurity, fear and doubt. Insecurity can slowly creep in (like a thief in the night) because of the wonders/elevations one may see manifesting in someone else’s ministry and life and not in their own ministry and life. The person starts to question their worth, their call and their ability. This is when admiration of another person’s ministry and gifting can quickly turns to envy; and their anointing is replaced by ambition. Sometimes truly devoted, anointed and gifted Christians are fooled by Satan and unconsciously walk in a spirit of doubt of their own destiny and thus begin coveting other’s ministries, gifting, visions and assignments. Sadly some people become drunk with the wine of Babylon. They lack the esteem of what God has done in them, zigzagging and wandering over in everyone else’s lane, stepping on toes, getting entangled and sometimes purposely and sometimes un purposely causing chaos and collisions. I always wonder do these people ever contemplate all that has been suffered, sacrificed; been taught with hard knocks and the extreme distance of walking on treacherous roads to get to this place, in which they envy and wish to posses? Do they not know it must have been God- ordained, God-given and God- protected?

“He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail”. (1 Samuel 2:9)

God is a God of order, His plans (our steps) are designed purposely and work efficiently and effectively. Not waiting on God to order ones steps is a dishonor to God and His creativity and creations; ourselves and our sisters and brothers, remember meditating earlier on Proverbs 16:9 and Isaiah 35:8. We fail to honor God by not fulfilling ‘our purpose’, refusing to accept and abide in being uniquely created differently but fitly joined to carry out His Will differently and in accord. The Holy bible tells us: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way”. (Psalm 37:23)

These contemplations brought me to this one observation: Of all the books and manuscripts we will ever read or write of ‘how to “live” a good life’, classes we will ever take; Of all the degrees we will ever receive and places we will ever go; of all the things we have ever desired, acquired and still strive for There is Nothing Like Having Jesus and God’s Word… The Bible.

Since God’s Word is the undeniable truth, has never returned void; His {God} Word has been proved time and time again to have no fault, I have come to this conclusion: The stumbles, the falls and the uphill climbs one may experience are the markers to victory for the road- map in our life’s journey, if we are obedient and live in The Word and let The Word live in us.

God said “I Am your hiding place, I will protect you from trouble and surround you with songs of deliverance… I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go …I will counsel you and watch over you. Rejoice in Me…” (Psalms 37:7-11). “I have carried you since your birth; I will sustain you, even when you have gray hairs. I will always carry you; I will always sustain you; I will always rescue you. Keep your mind focused on Me and I will keep you in perfect peace.”(Isaiah 26:3.4 and Isaiah 45:3-4) Of course no one or at least no one I know, self not excluded, has always walked into the perfect will of God, whether knowingly or unknowingly, we all have made mistakes. But our Heavenly Father tells us “Look up, your help comes from Me, the Maker of heaven and earth. I will not let your foot slip; I watch over you day and night… I will keep you from harm …both now and forevermore” (Psalms 121:1-8).

“From the brisk walks of the runways of airports, fashion houses and those steps choreographed to a dancer’s beat, I have learned in my life’s journey the only steps that give true fulfillment and purpose are those ordered by God”.
