Faith Journeys

O’ God this morning I thank You for faith journeys
we hear Your voice and obey
Not thinking or restricted with the plans of the day

O’ God this morning I thank You for divinely directed journeys
Moved by a prophetic way
Knowing in Your charge
we will not be led astray

O’ God this morning we thank You
for You have turned
Mountains into Isaiah highways
Immanuel “God who is with us”
Is leading us day by day

O’ God this morning we thank You
Egypt is dead
No longer do we wait for manna
we now sup on bread

O’ God we bless You this morning
No longer is there dread
Neither blazing sun
nor scorching winds
rest upon our heads

O’ God this morning we thank you
Spring waters guide us
Green pastures await us
Kings shall see
Princes shall prostrate
God is God
And
Our Egypt is dead©

A Faith Journey back to a place called home
For we walk by faith, not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7

Sometimes we are blessed to travel back to a place we can always call home. We are blessed because we have no birthright to the place or its people BUT by the grace of God we are adopted. A place where you experienced love, caring and sharing and most importantly, praise God, spiritual growth. Texarkana is that place for me it is where I first heard and answered the call to preach the gospel. I found myself this week taking such a journey, no plans, no strategy. I was in my car driving and the Father said “GO” and I obeyed with only the clothes on my back. What a beautiful experience! I found those same people who years ago welcomed me, a stranger, with open arms and hearts as their friend and family still possessing the same charitable spirits. Sometimes we are sent to revisit our beginnings to reflect, reminisce, and meditate before we are allowed to move forward. I thank God this morning for my friends and my Christian family that God placed in my life. I know as the gospel song declares “I’ve come this far by faith leaning on the Lord” and the good and the godly people He sent and set around me. I pray I have also been in some way a blessing to them. I am thankful. I thank Jesus for these good people and I thank them for their prayers, their support and their Christian love.
