Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
POWERFUL PRAISE!
Oh but… When Sunday Morning Comes!
I have given you eyes to see and ears to hear … if only you will Be Silent and Watch
No matter what is said or done
Watch… When Sunday Morning Comes!
The hearing ear, and the Seeing Eye, the LORD has made even both of them. (Provebs20:12)
If only you will Be Silent – Watch and Listen
Listen… Until Sunday Morning Comes!
“Lord no matter what is said or done”?
“Yes, No matter what is said and done …He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see”?
(Ps 94:9)
Be Silent – Watch... and Listen… and Learn
Yes Learn… Respect and Restraint, when it seems you are surrounded by none
Be Silent – Watch and Listen and Learn and Wait
No matter what is said or done
Wait! I said “Wait as the dusk gives way to the dawn”
Your eyes will hear and your ears will see and your tongue will rise up and walk out,
Walk out I say, “out of the dusk into a New Dawn”
What a small price to pay
For Your Sunday Morning to Come

COMMENTARY-EXCERPT FROM- Drawing the Line /Mike Huber /11 August 2002
Scripture Reading: John 33:34-35; 1 John 4:7-8
As followers of Christ, we should be about something entirely different. Instead of marking the borders, our lines should be life lines.
This old poem gets at the sort of transformation that is possible.
He drew a circle that shut me out;
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout;
But, love and I had a wit to win.
We drew a circle that took him in.
This is the command Jesus has given us, that we love one another. In fact, Jesus tells us that people will know we are his disciples if we practice love for one another. This is the mark that should distinguish us from all others: we are the people who give ourselves in love.
Instead of speculating about life after death, instead of arguing about rules or language, we should be immersing ourselves in the Spirit of Christ. Spending time with Christ makes us more Christ like. Immersing ourselves in Christ gives us power to love.
One of my favorite early Quaker writers put it this way: “The sum and substance of true religion doth not stand in getting a notion of Christ’s righteousness, but in feeling the power of the endless life, receiving the power, and being changed by the power. And where Christ is, there is his righteousness.”
As followers of Christ Jesus, this should be our central concern.
Bless you, Love
