VERSE:
Psalm 80 (King James Version)
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
COMMENTARY:
Here we see the psalmist complains of the miseries of the Church. He that dwelleth upon the mercy-seat, is the good Shepherd of His people. But we can neither expect the comfort of His love, nor the protection of His arm, unless we partake of His converting Grace. If He is really angry at the Prayers of His people, it is because, although they Pray, their ends are not right, or there is some secret sin indulged in them, or He will try their patience and perseverance in Prayer. When God is displeased with his people, we must expect to see them in tears, and their enemies in triumph. There is no salvation but from God's favor, there is no conversion to God but by His own Grace. Its former prosperity and present desolation. The Church is represented as a vine and a vineyard. The root of this vine is Christ, the branches are believers. The Church is like a vine, needing support, but spreading and fruitful. If a vine do not bring forth fruit, no tree is so worthless. And are not we planted as in a well-cultivated garden, with every means of being fruitful in works of righteousness? But the useless leaves of profession, and the empty boughs of notions and forms, abound far more than real piety. It was wasted and ruined. There was a good reason for this change in God's way toward them. And it is well or ill with us, according as we are under God's smiles or frowns. When we consider the state of the purest part of the visible Church, we cannot wonder that it is visited with sharp corrections. They request that God would help the vine. Lord, it is formed by thyself, and for thyself, therefore it may, with humble confidence, be committed to thyself.
PRAYER:
Most Holy and Precious Lord God, our Father. we You children come before
You this day in Prayer and praise. Thank You Beloved Father for keeping us, for not allowing any harm or danger to come unto our doors. Thank You Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Father we are so grateful that Your Grace and Mercy and love for us, has kept us, and that You have promised us that You would never leave or forsake us. Thank You Lord God our Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Precious Lord God, if any of us have sinned, we right now, confess all to You. we know that Your Blood that was shad on the cross has cleansed us from all unrighteousness, but we want nothing to get in the way of our, relationship with You as our Savior, our Lord, our God. Thank You Father that You have forgiven us all of our sins, Thank You Lord that; "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him, Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation, It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance. For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers, But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many, But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior". O' Bless That Wonderful Name Of Christ Jesus, The Only Name By Which Any Man Can Be Saved. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Father God, we are so grateful for the gift of Salvation that You died on the cross, that we might have. Thank You that we know that You have told us; My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world, Thank You Father God Thank You. Your praise shall continually be in our mouths. Blessed be the name of our God; let us sing to his praise, yea, let us give thanks to his holy name, for he doth work righteousness forever, Yea, we have reason to praise him forever, for he is the Most High God, and has loosed our brethren from the chains of hell, Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work, Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel, Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name, Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God, who has been mindful of this people, who are a branch of the tree of Israel, and has been lost from its body in a strange land; yea, I say, blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land, Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbered his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen, Wherefore, lift up thy heart and rejoice, and cleave unto the covenants which thou hast made, Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, and rejoice ye inhabitants thereof, for the Lord is God, and beside him there is no Savior, Great is his wisdom, marvelous are his ways, and the extent of his doings none can find out, His purposes fail not, neither are there any who can stay his hand, From eternity to eternity he is the same, and his years never fail, VERILY I say unto you my friends, fear not, let your hearts be comforted; yea, rejoice evermore, and in everything give thanks, Therefore, continue your journey and let your hearts rejoice; for behold, and lo, I am with you even unto the end. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. Holy Father we ask today that You Bless all those who have fallen victim to hatred and inhumanity, for those loved ones who are left behind to mourn, for the souls of those whose hearts are cold, for the children who are being born into this world of conflict and violence, for women and mothers who suffer needlessly, for all those who have been forced into unemployment, who long to return to work, for all those who struggle to support their families, for the soldiers who are misguided in thinking that their bullets will bring about peace, for those who feel called to conscientiously object to military orders, for the children who cry in their beds at night and wonder 'what have I done?', for the mothers and fathers who must try to explain the unexplainable, as to why they have to fight wars. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus Thank You, Thank You. Father we know that You love us and want only what is best for us, and we like wise love You and want only to please and be obedient to Your Holy Word. we Thank You this day that You have told us; Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you, Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you, But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong, That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame, But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Thank You Lord and Savior Christ Jesus Thank You. Lord and Savior we are not scared of any man for we know what You have told us, and the Blessed Holy Spirit brings it to our minds and hearts daily, so that we never grow weary of doing what is right in Your sight. For we know that; will lift up my eyes to the hills from where comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He that keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade upon your right hand. The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul, mind, thoughts, memories, perceptions. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and even for evermore, In the fear of the Lord, there is strong confidence, fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe, The Lord spoke to me with His strong hand upon me, warning. Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy, do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the One you are to regard as holy, He is the One you are to fear, He is the One you are to dread, and He will be a sanctuary to you, I will put my trust in Him, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You, Strengthen you the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, "Be strong, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense. He will come and save you, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand, I the Lord Your God will hold your right hand," saying to you, "Fear not. I will help you, I, even I, am the Lord, and beside Me there is no savior, For your Maker is your husband, Tyranny will be far from you. You will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed. It will not come near you. If anyone does attack you, it will not be My doing. Whoever attacks you will surrender to you declares the Lord, No weapon formed against you shall prosper, Every tongue gossip/condemnation that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn, Be not afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. They shall not prevail against you, for I am with you," says the Lord, "to deliver you. O' Bless That Wonderful Name Of Christ Jesus, Thank You Love and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. You are our one and only God, and The Lord Of Our Lives.
Now unto You, who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to You be the power and glory, to all generations forever and ever. Who has by the shading of Your Blood on the Cross, and raising from the grave, has proven Yourself, to be more then able to keep us, until the day of Your coming. Today and everyday, for the rest of our lives. i stand in the gap for all of those in this place, and give Thanks unto You, most Beloved Christ Jesus. we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Father, i in the Holy and Blessed name of Christ Jesus, who is Lord of my life, proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, for we ask in Your most Precious Holy name, and i commend each and everyone of Your children's body and souls into Your loving, mighty hands, our Beloved Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, Who is Lord Of Our Lives. Thank You Beloved Savior, Thank You.
Amen.
