VERSE:
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. - Proverbs 16:3
THOUGHT:
The real question behind this promise is very simple: How do I
define success for my plans? The answer is very simple as well:
bringing glory to God for his grace (see Eph. 1:6, 12, 14).
Committing our works and plans to God means surrendering them to God's will (James 4:13-15), trusting that God will be glorified in
them (Col. 3:17), and recognizing that it is not in our power to
properly guide our own steps (Prov. 16:9). God longs to bless us
and empower us -- not for our own selfish ambition (James 3:16),
but for our eternal good (Rom. 8:28) and God's glory. Like Jesus,
when we commit our plans and works to the Lord, we are saying, "Not my will, Father, but yours be done!"
PRAYER:
Lord we come before you today, with a humble heart, Thankful for another day, Thankful, for Your forgiveness of our sins. As we worship You today, Father, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, we look back on the evil that stains our lives and burdens our consciences, and we pray with David: "Cleanse me, and I will be clean; wash me and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Save me, O God, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness." Thank You Lord, Thank You.
Most Precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, Lord, this is another good day. We begin it in Your name and with Your promise of Blessings. Whatever this day brings, we accept as a gift of love from You. Do not let us meet the events of this day alone, for you have told us that You would never leave or forsake us, and we believe You. Lord we know, that unless you are with us, we will surely fail, to do thy will this day. Let us face this day with courage and trust in You. For Christ Jesus' sake, You will not fail. Thank You Lord for this another good day. We begin it in Your name and with Your promise of Blessings. Whatever this day brings, we accept as a gift of love from You. Thank You God, our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
Father, Oh, Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. We want your will to be our plans. we want your glory to be our goal. We have things that we want to do. However, if these plans are not for Your glory, if these plans are not a Blessing to our family or those over whom we have influence, then please defeat us in those plans and please guide us into other areas of Blessing. We want You to be glorified in what we do. We want to go where Your grace leads.
We commit our ways, our plans, and our works to You and to
Your glory.
Thank You Precious Christ Jesus
In Christ Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
