VERSE:
Psalm 5 (King James Version)
Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
COMMENTARY:
God will certainly hear Prayer: David gives to God the glory, and takes to himself the comfort. God is a Prayer-hearing God. Such he has always been, and he is still as ready to hear Prayer as ever. The most encouraging principle of Prayer, and the most powerful plea in Prayer, is, to look upon Him as our King and our God. David also Prays to a sin-hating God. sin is folly, and sinners are the greatest of all fools; fools of their own making. Wicked people hate God, and this will be their endless misery and ruin. Let us learn the importance of truth and sincerity, in all the affairs of life. Liars and murderers resemble the devil, and are his children, therefore it may well be expected that God should abhor them. These were the characters of David's enemies; and such as these are still the enemies of Christ and his people. Amen.
PRAYER:
Most Precious Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, unto You this morning we come with praise and worship. Thank You Lord, that You have kept us, Your children, safe from hurt and harm. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Dear Beloved Christ Jesus, we Thank You for this day. We Thank You for Your Grace which covers a multitude of sins. Help us to honor You this day and to do Your will. Be with our loved ones and keep them in Your care. Guide and direct their paths. Bless Your Beloved Church in all the world and help her to fulfill her mission of reaching the lost. Thank You, Lord Christ Jesus, Thank You. Thank You Lord that You are with our soldiers in Iraq and every country where they are fighting. Thank You that their lives too are in Your mighty hands, keep them from harm. Be with the sick and the dying, the troubled and the hurting, those that are calling on You for justice, those that don't feel that anyone even cares about justice any more. Lord give them rest from their burdens. Shut every mouth that speaks out against Your servants, who seek to do Your will. Thank You Lord, Thank You. Make us an instrument of Your love and peace. Thank You Lord, Thank You. There’s so much for us to do, Lord, so many challenges to overcome and problems to solve and worries to put to rest. We sometimes, like to think we can do it all. But we can’t. we won’t. We Lord are right now, giving it all to you. Let us start small and when we do, give success to our little efforts. Thank You Lord, Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord, that You have empowered us with Your perfect wisdom and mighty love. Thank You, that have taught us, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord, Thank You. You told us through Your Word, Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful, And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing? For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own, The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe, But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one, But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil, He will not fear evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord, You will laugh at violence and famine, neither will you be afraid of wild beasts, But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries, For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent, The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever, But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you, Thank You Lord, and Savior Christ Jesus, Thank You. O Bless that wonderful name of Christ Jesus, Thank You, Glory To God, Thank You Father. Thank You, that those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble. Thank You Lord, that our lives are happy in Your care, Thank You Lord for enableing us to stand, for Your Word, for we are not ashamed of the Gospel. Thank You, and we know you will protect our lives. Thank You Lord, we love You, need You, seek only to do Your will.
Now unto Him who is more then able to keep us, until the day of His coming. We give You all the glory, and Thanks for this day, Christ Jesus, and every day for the rest of our lives, and this day, i proclaim that our Prayer, and all we ask is already done, Thank You, Lord, for we ask in Your, most Holy and Precious name Christ Jesus.
i commend our bodies and souls into Your loving hands Lord Christ Jesus, who is King of kings, and Lord of lords, for we are asured, that You are in full control. So i will say, in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. I have no fear of what man can do to me. Thank You Lord, Thank You.
Amen.
