Spreading God's Love Thru Prayer
Why is the nation full of scattered sheep…
(wandering sheep, hungry sheep, discouraged sheep?)
Questions and answers on current .
"It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust in man" (Psalm 118:8).
` The question many Christians are asking today is: "What is God going to do next?" When speaking to His disciples, Jesus gave us a blue print of the days in which we live, and what is next on God's agenda. In Matthew twenty-four, Jesus gives His disciples what they should look for at the end of the age.
We are to look for wars and rumors of war, nations (peoples) rising against nations, kingdoms against kingdoms, famines, earthquakes, and pestilence (diseases). We see these signs in the headlines, on the newscasts, and in many publications. But Jesus warns, these are only the beginning of sorrows. So, then, what is next on God's agenda?
"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake." Matthew 24:9
~ ...As we look at these facts in light of history, this is what happened to the early church. When persecution came, it scattered the early church all over the earth. In the understanding of the carnal mind, this seemed like a bad thing. But in the eyes of God, it was a good thing, because this is the way He spread the gospel of salvation all over the earth.
So, what will happen in our day? Today, there is another message God has yet to spread all over the earth, and Jesus explained this message to His disciples:
"And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14
Most of God's people are looking for the end of the world (the age) and Jesus returning to set up His Kingdom. But before He can set up His eternal Kingdom, the gospel of the Kingdom is going to be preached all over the earth.
How, then, is God going to accomplish this? It will be in the same way He did it in the early church, and that is through persecution. Persecution is going to scatter God's true people all over the earth. One may ask:
"What is going to bring on this scattering process?"
"Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture! Saith the Lord." Jeremiah 23:1 ..~
… and not a God far away?
1“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. 2Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil you have done,” declares the Lord. 3“I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord
25“I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ 26How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? 27They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal worship. 28Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares theLord. 29“Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
30“Therefore,” declares the Lord, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31Yes,” declares the Lord, “I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, ‘The Lord declares.’ 32Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams,” declares the Lord. “They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the Lord.
The Lord Our Righteousness - Jeremiah 23
God has declared that when He gathers His elect, He is going to feed them.
"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." II Peter 2:20-22
Gospel, Matthew 7:21, 24-27
21 'It is not anyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," who will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the personwho does the will of my Father in heaven.
24 'Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible manwho built his house on rock.
25 Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled themselves against that house, and it did not fall: it was founded on rock.
26 But everyone who listens to these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid manwho built his house on sand.
27 Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and struck that house, and it fell; and what a fall it had!'
Praise the Lord!
