Three Days Left To Live As A Christian ?

If you were told today that you had three days left to live, what would you do? Would you change anything from your normal everyday life? Would you give to charity, or the poor, make up with the relative/neighbor you haven’t spoken with for years, or simply have to do something that didn’t seem important before? Perhaps if we are lead to do such things, maybe that is a clue we may not be living as we should now? Perhaps we should live our lives today as if tomorrow was never coming?
Often in the course of our lives we get caught up in things. These things are not always meant for bad, and many are even begun with good intentions but nevertheless things happen. If we are not careful we get stuck in our own little worlds, and don’t realize the repercussions of our actions or lack of actions. We find ourselves in what I like to call a “survival” mode. Basically meaning that we are just going thru the motions necessary to live, feeling that we a have all the time in the world, and then find ourselves merely existing and not truly living. The enemy of God wins in many people, not from battles won but merely by keeping their focus on everything else but God and their true spiritual needs. They loose the war of their own salvation, never having picked up their spiritual swords and fought. They die spiritually asleep.
Take a real moment and consider this question. What would you do, having only three days left to live? Would you seek God like you never had before? Would you run to the alter and seek forgiveness? Is there something you should do, that has been put off? Maybe you have wanted to, but just have never found the time?
What we must understand is that our spiritual enemy will not always come face to face with his opponent. Often, all that is needed is to distract. It is much easier to win a fight if your opponent never chooses to defend themselves-amen? Whether we want to participate or not, the battle is indeed real. We will choose a side and we will either win or loose. The cost is everything. Many will loose not from conquest but from straight out consent. They Hand over eternity for a temporary earthly desire. Thinking they have many years left, and then death comes knocking; pulling the rug from under them. If we read in Ecclesiastes 9:12 - Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them. And in Luke 21:34 we read- Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap. We should live each and everyday as if it were our last. Taking every opportunity we can as Christians to do a good work, help a fellow brother/sister and do as Christ instructed us to do. Let us not put off anything of God, but be ready to stand in the gap for those that can not. Let not the judgment fall and the blood be on our hands, for we have done the will of the father when he spoke. Let us pray we have done all that was asked of us when we stand at the throne of God, and will hear” Enter in my good and faithful servant”.
